For Mains appearing students regarding optional paper attempt strategy:

Before time begins after QCAB distribution, find qns to attempt. Find qns that you know most subparts in.

Attempt 80 marks worth of easy paper first to gain momentum and pick the low hanging fruits, in the first hour from the ones you choose. Then Q1 and Q5 compulsory ones in around 75-80mins since they would be complex and then the remaining paper.

🏆 Happy National Sports Day 🏆

It’s not just about winning a race or hitting the perfect shot.

True sportsmanship is shaking hands after defeat, clapping for others when you didn’t make it, showing up even when you're tired, and playing fair even when no one is watching.

On the field just like in life, the game changes but the values don’t.

🥇 Respect.
🥈 Discipline.
🥉 Grit.
🤝 And the courage to try again, no matter how many times you fall.

Whether you’re an athlete on the ground, or a student running the daily marathon of life — sportsmanship is your quiet superpower.

Let’s celebrate that spirit today.
Let’s carry it beyond the track.

“I’m not cut out for this.”
“What if I fail again?”
“I’ll never finish the syllabus.”

Stop. These aren’t just thoughts — they’re spells you’re casting on yourself.

In UPSC prep, your self-talk becomes your fuel.
Speak like you’re someone who’s growing.
Act like you’re someone who will rise again.
And you will.

What you whisper to yourself in quiet hours decides what the world hears on result day.

Some days, you won’t revise 3 chapters.
You won’t solve 50 MCQs.
You’ll just sit at your desk with sleepy eyes and a heavy heart and still try.

That’s courage, too.

📍 Getting out of bed when you’d rather give up?
That’s not laziness, that’s resilience in disguise.

Honor the quiet victories. They’re the bricks beneath your bigger ones.

Failed last year? Took a gap year? Burned out midway?
That’s not the end of your story. That’s where the gold starts.

Like kintsugi, your cracks, your disappointments, breakdowns, re-starts — aren’t stains on your journey.
They’re proof that you held on. That you rebuilt.

📖 The UPSC final list doesn’t just carry names.
It carries stories written in gold, of those who broke and still rose.

Discipline isn’t glamorous.
It’s revising Laxmikant when your brain screams for a break.
It’s solving that 40th MCQ even when your score feels stuck.

You won’t always feel motivated.
But if you show up anyway, that’s what builds toppers.

📍 Grit over mood. Reps over vibes.
This is how ranks are earned, not wished for.

Throat is finally manageable. Let’s meet at @UPSCneil at 5.30 sharp without fail.

Can leave queries in advance if anything needs my attention, else we’ll just discuss way forward for now.

UPSC isn’t won by the smartest.
It’s won by the ones who revise even when bored,
who write even when it feels rough,
who stay on the timetable when no one’s checking.

Discipline is your AIR rank waiting quietly to be built.

Some days you’ll feel like you’re surfing — confident, fast, in flow.
Other days? Like you’re drowning in revision or wiped out by a single MCQ.

That’s prep. That’s life. 🌊

You can’t stop the tides — of fear, fatigue, failure.
But you can learn to breathe through them.
To ride them with grace. To rise again.

📘 Trust the process. You’re growing in your own light, even if no one sees it yet.

🌼 Happy Teacher’s Day 🌼
Some teachers teach chapters.
But a few… quietly change the course of your life.

They see what you can be before you see it yourself.
They guide, shape, nudge — not just for marks, but for meaning.

To those who taught us lessons that didn’t end with exams —
thank you for touching our lives beyond the books. 🙏

You won’t always see the whole UPSC journey.
Not the final rank, not the day it clicks.
But that doesn’t mean you stop.

📍 Open the book even when you’re confused.
📍 Write the answer even if it’s not perfect.
📍 Take the next step — even in doubt.

The glow you carry is enough to light the next few feet.
And that’s all you need.

Success in UPSC isn’t about heroic 14-hour study days.
It’s about showing up daily —
like revising one static subject every morning,
or writing just one GS answer before lunch.

The basics are boring.
But boring, done relentlessly, becomes unbeatable.

@UPSCneil

Don’t chase AIR 1. Don’t chase cut-offs. Don’t chase applause.

Instead, chase curiosity.
Chase clarity. Chase the version of you who sits down every day despite the noise.

Because what’s truly meant for you — that result, that roll number, that dream- won’t need chasing.
It will arrive quietly, drawn to your discipline like a butterfly to a blooming garden.

🌼 Just keep growing.

A test score doesn’t define your worth.
A failed mock doesn’t cancel your potential.
It just teaches you something your notes couldn’t.

Through every stumble, you’re building more than knowledge —
you’re building grit, clarity, and resilience.

📘 You’re not just solving papers. You’re learning how to rise.

We’re getting requests from students for getting personalised doubt resolution.

As suggested, you can also book a O2O slot with sir by pinging us at @helpdeskupsc for getting a tailor made strategy made through a ‘Mentorship Call’.

Otherwise you should continue to use the open forum @UPSCneil to get your queries addressed.

Don’t chase secrets — chase your own rhythm.
It’s not about finishing Laxmikant in one sleepless week.
It’s about showing up daily, even when Polity feels dry,
even when that GS2 paper broke your back.

The toppers aren’t superhuman.
They’re just boringly consistent.
