Nothing exam worthy in today’s newspaper but this was, well unexpected in the temple of democracy. Whether someone was indifferent enough to actually bring this with them or whether it was planted, either ways it should have been unacceptable. The follow up justification from both sides was more funny than tragic.

Anyway, the point of sharing this was - “ While you’re worried and self loathing about 1-2 wasted days in the prep, ‘eminent’ individuals are unmoved even after committing such acts. Develop a little bit of thick skin with a healthy serving of self esteem. Have righteousness, succeed so that you’re not held hostage to other’s standards your entire life.”

You’ve gotten a great opportunity to prepare for the exam; it’s not a life sentence.

Taking a day off in a week only improves overall productivity. Avoid the ‘race to the bottom’ for mental health, and enjoy the cocoon.

Takeaway from today’s newspaper. All systems are by and large similar.

Now ofc, the honourable institutions have hopefully done their due diligence and we might just be seeing patterns that don’t exist. But both eerily sound similar. Justifications are easy to give either ways.

A lot of students waste significant years in this exam by running behind pirated videos, competing with others on ‘sitting hours’ and in locating fancy study material. But just like in life, even in UPSC, quality and right guidance trumps vague misaligned efforts.

Even AI nowadays is being seen as a be all end all. AI can only ‘amplify’ what you know, not create the right direction from thin air!
