When we started this, I knew we were creating something special. But the success of our IP depended on your execution, support and hardwork.
I’m really humbled by our Sherlockers success in exams as diverse as UPSC CSE, IFoS, Cost account services, BPSC, HCS to name a few.
And here’s to congratulating another Sherlocker Shubhashree for getting Rank 26 in UPSC’s LEO selection exam. I’m sure your success will inspire our fellow community members too.
This photo reminds me of the inaugural offline sherlocking session when the community had the privilege to meet with you and Shaurya Arora(AIR14, UPSC). Hopefully more sherlockers in this frame will write their own unique stories.

Since we don’t rely on “I’m your Dear Bhaiya” Marketing, and moving to an app ecosystem has led to more operational expenses, remaining financially sustainable is a challenge. -"UPSC's syllabus is a vast ocean, anything can be asked": On paper, yes, but PYQ Analysis tells you the favoured themes.
-"CSAT is CAT": Sorry to break your bubble, but it's not. In 2023, 5-6 qns were beyond syllabus, Yes. But still not CAT.
-"I have to isolate and close myself into my room": Even the worst of the prisoners are afraid of solitary confinement. Why self inflict the worst misery with an unreasonable expectation?
-"I have to study 12hrs+": More is not always better. Cal newport has rightly assessed that 4hrs is the limit of deepwork. Add 4 more for the mundane tasks and 8ish hrs of study 5-6days a week is more than sufficient.
-"If I fail, everyone will say Moye Moye": Toxic people will say Moye Moye anyway. Even if you become IRS, they'll say "IAS तो नहीं बना ना". If you become IAS, they'll say, "5th attempt में बनकर वो 1st attempt वाली बात नहीं!".
Be careful while navigating mass media like YouTube and avoid oversimplification.

Result Day is the Day of Judgment. Not only for the students, but also for a Guide/Coach/Facilitator (‘Mentor’ as an adjective has been spoilt by Bhaiya-isation of the UPSC assembly, but that’s a story for another day)!

Social Media is now becoming a platform for “schadenfreude” or “harm joy”.
From running patriotic reels first to milking views for an internal family dispute, social media does love a hero to villian arc, but doesn’t recognise the irreparable harm it does to the relationship and mental health of individuals involved.

Despite scoring 33 marks lesser(Reference in Video below) in CSE 2022, she ended up as an ‘IAS Probationer’. If it were not for this escalation, would have been swept under the carpet like so many before her.

Similarly, it doesn’t take a genius to go through EWS names in the last 4-5 yrs with insta profiles to make sense out the situation, devoiding the real deserving beneficiaries, but nobody is really bothered.
Hopefully this serves as a wakeup call for the next ecosystem and it is ensured that the real deserving candidates can make use of the affirmative action for not only social ends also for strengthening the faith in the system!
