Congratulations to all those who got into IFoS.

Really proud moment when a friend and batchmate from HCS clears too while being on the job.

Course Update:

A lot of students wanted to know the time it'll take to watch the module end to end.

Roughly, videos from GS+Heuristics constituting all PYQs from 2011-2023 are around 50hrs in length. Watching at 1.25x/1.5x within a week would take care of the entire videos.

Similarly, for CSAT, videos from 2018-23 are roughly around 20hrs. Watching at 1.25x/1.5x within 3 days would guarantee that you clear CSAT.

The complete module thus can be finished within 7-10days.

There were students who joined the module 15 days before Pre last time and still found tremendous value in it.

Dropped Question.

As we discussed, it had multiple correct answers, hence at least some sense prevailed in them to drop.

I hope next time onwards, this sense strikes while setting the Qn Paper!

Older Repost. Exactly how we explained!
Spoiler Alert for those waiting for official answer key.

Since I’ve nearly shot the Pre23 for Sherlocking Module, we’ve realised that there were around 10-15 Qns with ambiguos Qn/Option framing.

The answers to those questions will be arbitrary as it includes an element of discretion and in no way will reflect the ‘objectively’ correct options.

Rather than focusing on What Ifs based on your last performance, I would encourage you to do an objective audit and prioritise the remaining 85 questions with unambiguous answers to give yourself the best chance to clear this year.

Statement 2 was contentious.

Apparently heuristics worked better than actual factual edifice because certain data points point towards the second statement being correct.

Answer is A as per key! Heuristics worked like a charm, A is not a dignified negative anymore Sherlockers!

Overarching heuristic again beats the ‘factual edifice’.

Unfortunately they continue to make loose statements correct at one place, and incorrect at another(Cue the Gandak Qn).

The way to optimise your chance is stick to one interpretation, and hope that their erratic behaviour changes.

But this only affirms our belief in Sherlocking even more.

Basic sources, PYQ Analysis and LR, while leaving the rest to fate with immense self belief!

Will discuss rest in community session!

I have a conflict of interest in speaking about the obvious effectiveness of the Sherlocking Module, but enrolled students don’t!
