FAQs about the Sherlocking Course:

1."What enrolled students say about their Sherlocking experience?"

Prelims student reviews after results:
https://t.me/Neil_You/1208

Testimonials:
https://t.me/Neil_You/308

2. "What is the course about?"

PYQ Analysis like never before. Why? Because our focus is JUST using standard sources in culmination with Logical Reasoning to find the right answer. You'll feel like a true Sherlock after few videos.

3. What are the deliverables, course structure, timeline, validity and cost?
-2011-24 Analysis GS: ~55hrs
-2018-24 Analysis CSAT: ~22hrs
-Plus live doubt sessions

4. "I like the course structure but I don't want to invest 7.5k in one go and then realise that I didn't like the course."

Enroll in any one GS module ( Hist, Geo, Env, S&T, Polity, Econ ) or Heuristics or CSAT modular courses. The fact that over 95% students who enrolled in modular courses upgraded to comprehensive GS+Heuristics+CSAT speaks volume about its effectiveness.

5. "I see value in the IP but I can't afford the course."

https://t.me/Neil_You/265

This would hands down be the best investment in your Prelims prep. Don't take my word for it. You've already seen what the enrolled students have said about the course.

Supplementary Note:

No matter what the echo chambers of YT influencers 'claim', you will never have enough content for the kind of questions that come in Prelims.

कितने घोड़े हाथी के बारे में रटेंगे। यही करते रह जायेंगे जिंदगी भर with No Returns!

Also, unlike a consumer durable, this exam doesn't come with a guarantee card. But to get one the best shot possible, Basic Sources and Sherlocking (fancy way of saying Common Sense) are enough!

📢 Also, another heads up. As they say, If you want to go fast, go alone but if you want to go far, go with a team.

🏅 To ensure the highest quality and deliverables, we now have an amazing team helping us deliver the courses with the most optimum effectiveness in a timely manner.

But that means to ensure financial sustainability of the operations, the cost of the courses will marginally go up.

📈 This would also mean that now in future modules, revision notes, slides etc will also be provided to ease your life.

❄️ To ensure a smooth transition, we’ve frozen the current cost until Prelims after which the fee revision will kick in!

🌱 I’m sure you’ll continue to benefit from our efforts and reap thy rewards.

🌟 Best wishes

The biggest success of the Pre Sherlocking Module is the fact that all enrolled students recognised the stark difference in quality between the module videos and the clickbaity PYQ videos on YouTube!

A lot of students at times enroll in one subject to check the quality and we’ve had 100% conversion as they always upgrade to the full module within the stipulated 15day window.

Don’t take my word for it, check out the testimonials and FAQs below!

🚨 For People Worried about Mock Scores

🎲 Given the current unpredictable quality of Mocks, the score absolutely doesn’t matter!

🎯 Focus on getting the basic questions correct.

📝 Use mocks as an opportunity to:
- Sit for 2hrs with focus and
- ✍️ Fill OMR without silly mistakes.

🛤 Believe in the process and yourself.

🌌 Leave the rest to Almighty/ Karma/ Mother Nature/ Blessings/ Whatever it is you believe in!

Great meet guys, send the minutes to @helpdeskupsc.

We’ve discussed a lot of questions from ‘23 to see how we could have optimised our attempt with the basic sources and sherlocking.

Will update the videos too in your dashboards asap!

Wishes.

📝 Minutes from an older Sherlocking Meet, relevant as ever:

🧠 Being in the right headspace

💡 Internalise confidence with the backing of hard work, ie through PYQ iterations and basic sources.

🚫 Let no question become an emotional sink. We have to accept negatives and keep moving on. Getting jittery about a few questions hampers clear thinking, so stay calm!
(Lesson from "Who Moved My Cheese?" - don't be too set in disappointment, look for solutions despite all constraints.)

🤺 It's not as much of a competition as it's made to be by coachings. Self-believe, always.

🔄 What if the pattern changes and the heuristics don’t work?
Ans-Even if the questions are factual, educated guesses can still be made, provided your basic sources are properly done and you have enough overarching peripheral knowledge.
eg. Lake Question in Pre-22

🏃‍♂️ You are still comparatively ahead of the competition. After giving multiple attempts, a big chunk of aspirants end up either depressed, distracted, or disappear from the scene. Early enthusiasm+ Right guidance puts you ahead. Stay focused, stay calm and believe in yourself.

🗓️ Even the honorable ASG had quipped how UPSC Prelims bas ek mahine bhar ka exam hai. The real difficulty isn’t even half of the projected value.

🧩 Both papers are technically CSAT. When analysing PYQs focus on the reasoning part, and approach the questions from multiple angles iteratively.

🔑 UPSC key is the final source. There’s no point in questioning it. Rather mould your brain into thinking the way UPSC works.

📚 Patchy, non-exhaustive revision of 2-3 subjects per day is better than extensively revising one subject over a couple of days.

⏱️ Finish sectional tests in 20 days, then move on to FLTs.

📖 PYQ analysis - context > content. Treat PYQ as a "living document " to develop a knack for elimination.
