Akshaya Tritiya celebrations concur with Parashuram Jayanti, the birth anniversary of Lord Parashuram, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

It is also the day that marks the beginning of the Treta Yuga.

And the list of significance doesn't end here. As per one of the legends, Akshaya Tritiya is when the mighty and heavenly river Ganga descended on the earth at the behest of King Bhagiratha to help his ancestors attain Moksha (salvation).

This auspicious day is also associated with Shri Krishna. On this day, Shri Krishna's poor Brahmin friend, Sudama, visited his palace with a fistful of flattened rice. Shri Krishna whole-heartedly accepted his humble offerings and showered his friend with riches. Therefore, it is the day when Sudama's fortunes changed, and he became a wealthy man.

According to another legend, Shri Krishna saved Draupadi and the Pandavas from Sage Durvasa's wrath by turning their empty food pot into an Akshaya Patra (a vessel with an endless supply of food).

And last but not least, Ved Vyasa narrated the Mahabharata to Lord Ganesha on this day.

पौराणिक मान्यताओं के अनुसार मां बगलामुखी को पीला रंग अधिक प्रिय है। इस दिन मां बगलामुखी की पूजा में पीले रंग के फूल, पीला चंदन और पीले रंग के वस्त्र अर्पित करने की मान्यता है। मां बगलामुखी की पूजा करने से वाकसिद्धि, शत्रुओं और मुकदमे में विजय प्राप्त होती है। मान्यताओं के अनुसार इनकी साधना करने से गंभीर बीमारियों से भी छुटकारा मिल जाता है।

Sita Navami, also known as Sita Jayanti is celebrated as birth anniversary of Goddess Sita, the consort of Lord Rama. According to the Hindu panchang, Sita Navami falls on Navami tithi (ninth day) during Shukla Paksha in the month of Vaisakh.

On this day, Goddess Sita, who is an incarnation of Goddess Laxmi, was born in Pushya Nakshatra. According to Hindu mythology, when King Janaka of Mithila was ploughing the land to conduct yajna, he found a baby girl in a golden basket. Since he didn't have any child, so he adopted the daughter and named her Sita. Also, since she is the daughter of Janaka, she is widely known as Janaki.

सनातन धर्म में एकादशी व्रत का विशेष महत्व माना गया है। धर्म शास्त्रों में एकादशी को सभी व्रतों में श्रेष्ठ बताया गया है। प्रत्येक माह में दोनों पक्षों शुक्ल पक्ष और कृष्ण पक्ष की एकादशी तिथि को एकादशी का व्रत किया जाता है। सभी एकादशी तिथि भगवान विष्णु को समर्पित होती हैं लेकिन हर एकादशी का अपना एक अलग महातम्य होता है।

Each month has two Trayodashi days, falling on the thirteenth day of the moon's 'bright phase' and 'dark phase,' respectively.

If this day falls on a Monday (Moon Day) it is called Soma Pradosham which is one of the most auspicious days for Lord Shiva.

Pradosh refers to the the twilight period, just before sunset and immediately after sunset. Therefore the most optimal time for meditation and worship of Lord Shiva ritual is during an auspicious 3 hour period that falls 1.5 hours before and after sunset.

The best thing to do on this day is Rudrabhishekam. You can also listen to Sri Rudram (Namakam and Chamakam). You can also chant your favourite Shiva mantras during this time.

Narasimha Jayanti celebrates the birth of Lord Narasimha or the fourth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

#NarasimhaJayanti is observed on the Vaishakha Shukla Chaturdashi. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu appeared in the avatar of Narasimha - a fierce form of the god - to kill the demon Hiranyakashipu.

Narasimha is depicted as the half lion and half human form of Vishnu. Lord Vishnu appeared in the form Narasimha to protect his devotee, Prahlada from Hiranyakashipu. Like many Hindu festivals, Narasimha Jayanti also signifies the victory of good over evil.

Buddha Jayanti or Buddha Purnima is the celebration of the birth of Gautama Buddha, and this year it will be observed on May 26.

His birth anniversary is also known as Buddha Purnima or Vaisakhi Buddha Purnima or Vesak. As per the Hindu calendar, Buddha Jayanti falls on a full moon day in the month of Vaisakh (which usually falls in April or May). Buddha Jayanti, 2021 will mark the lord Buddha’s 2583rd birth anniversary.

It is actually based on the Asian lunisolar calendar, which is why the dates change every year. Lord Buddha was born as Prince Siddhartha Gautama on the Purnima Tithi (full moon day) in 563 BC in Lumbini (modern day Nepal). In Hinduism, Buddha is considered as the ninth avatar of Lord Vishnu.

चंद्र ग्रहण पूर्णिमा के दिन होता है। जब पृथ्वी, सूर्य और चंद्रमा के बीच आ जाती है यानी सूर्य, पृथ्वी और चंद्रमा एक सीध में आ जाते हैं तो इस घटना को चंद्र ग्रहण कहते हैं। जब पूरा चंद्रमा पृथ्वी की छाया में होता है तब पूर्ण चंद्र ग्रहण होता है। जब चंद्रमा का केवल एक भाग पृथ्वी की छाया में आता है तो आंशिक चंद्र ग्रहण होता है।

चंद्रग्रहण 2021 की कुल अवधि 5 घंटे 2 मिनट की बताई गई है। इस क्रम में 14 मिनट तक पूर्ण चंद्र ग्रहण रहेगा। 2 घंटे 53 मिनट तक आंशिक चंद्र ग्रहण लगेगा। यह चंद्रग्रहण भारत में दिखाई नहीं पड़ेगा। यहां चंद्रग्रहण नहीं देखे जाने के कारण सूतक काल भी मान्य नहीं होगा।
