☀️ Idag firas högtiden Midsommar som är en av Skandinaviens största och mest uppskattade högtid under året. I gamla bondesamhället var Midsommar/Sommarsolståndet en viktig brytpunkt: tiden innan Midsommar präglades av ett givande till jorden medans tiden efter var till för att skörda det jorden gav tillbaka.
☀️ Midsommar symboliserar fruktsamhet, lyckosamhet och framförallt årets ljusaste dag: Sommarsolståndet som inträffade för några dagar sedan - den längsta och ljusaste dagen på året. Enligt gammal folktro anses nätterna vid Sommarsolståndet och Midsommar vara spirituella och fulla av under - nu när naturen är som ymnigast.

↟ You are the latest reflection of your ancestors 🌿 Ales Stenar (Ale's Stones) is the largest ancient monument in Sweden in the type of a stone ship and dates back to the Vendel Age (Late Iron Age) around the year 540 - 790. It consists of 59 erected boulders, each weighing around 5 tons. The stone ship has a length of 67 meters, a width of 19 meters and is magnificently located 32 meters above sea level at Kåsehuvud Scania,Sweden.
Ales Stenar is said to be a tomb monument and/or an astronomical solar calendar. The center line of the stone ship points to the same point in the horizon where the sun rises at both Summer Solstice and Winter Solstice. The stones are also placed so that the sun sets at the northwest corner in summer and rises at the opposite corner in winter. Whether Ales Stenar is a tomb monument or a solar calendar, it reflects our history - do not forget who you are.

Vid Simris kyrka i södra Sverige står två släta och ljusa runstenar av sandsten som tidigare har varit inmurade i kyrkomuren.
Runstenarna är från 1000-talet och har inristningar av uppsvensk typ med dekorativt utformade runslingor. Simrisstenen 1, Dr 344 är den mest ornamenterade av dem med följande inskrift:
biarngaiR × lit (*) raisa * stain * þina * eftiR * rafn * broþur * sin * su(i)n * kun(u)--s * a suiþiuþu
BiarngeR let resa sten þænna æftiR Rafn, broþur sin, swen Gunu[lf]s a Sweþiuþu.

Locknesjön (The Lockne Lake) is a lake in Jämtland, Sweden that was created by a meteorite impact 458 million years ago by a 600 meter large part of an asteriod. The lake have a dept of 57,4 meters, an area of 26,6 square kilometers and is located at 327,9 meters above sea level.
Locknesjön is a cold water source, and when the sunlight hits right, you can spot burbots moving at the bottom. Burbot is a fish that is related to cod. Among the cod-like fishes, the burbot is the only one that lives in freshwater.
Locknesjön is located in Lockne parish, which has medieval origins. There is about 40 burial mounds from the Iron Age and desolate farms from the Middle Ages have been found. Also fifthy catch pits has been located in the woods of Lockne.

🌕 Skördeblot brukar uppmärksammas nu i början av Augusti och högtidhåller den första stora skörden. I slutet av Juli och i början av Augusti skördas mycket brödsäd och ofta tar man detta som utgångspunkt för när Skördeblotet/Skördefesten skall hållas. Vid Skördeblotet ärar man gudarna Tor (åskguden och åkrarnas beskyddare), Siv (som råder över sädens mognad) och äringsguden Frej.
🌕 Traditionen kallas även Sensommarblot - en hednisk högtid som brukar firas i Skandinavien kring Höstdagjämningen tillsammans med Höstblotet, då skörden här i Norden vanligtvis inte infaller förräns lite senare.
