The announcements of candidates by right-wing parties is worth a post though.

Independent Ireland have around 40 candidates so far. Aontu is nearing 60. IFP have 19. Ireland First have announced 6 and the NP have announced 7. Last post from Ikon puts nationalist independents at 31. We can assume there will be a continued level of roll out here from all parties.

Right now that's somewhere in the region of 160 right wing candidates.

Its unlikely they're all going to win, but that just shows the depth and breadth of anti immigration electoral appeal.

To think only a few years ago, being anti immigration would result in your public shaming and being ousted from jobs.

We have to give huge kudos to the men and women that went out when it was not popular to share these views.

We are looking at about 100 rw candidates getting seats if current polling holds out.

Independent Ireland and Aontu should have very good days. Independent Ireland name choice is an excellent choice and will probably pull in votes that would usually only go Indo.

If I had to guess I'd say II will walk away with the vast majority of the seats. Somewhere in the region of 1-2 MEP and 60 cllrs. Aontu will probably pull off 40 cllrs.

We will have to wait and see what results will be like for IFP IF and NP. Probably 5-10 between them.
