A two-year-old boy has died after he was reportedly struck by a reversing school van at Shalom Schools in Kieni, Nyeri County.
The child's parents, Hannah Wambui and Baptista Mukere, described him as their only son and are demanding answers over the circumstances that led to the tragedy.
The school's principal, Muriithi Nthaka, confirmed that the accident occurred as the driver was reversing the van. The driver has since been arrested and is in police custody as investigations into the incident continue.

A few days ago, someone asked me about the Nairobi Loop Exclusive Telegram channel.
Most of you know we run two Telegram channels: the main channel and the Exclusive channel.
Unfortunately, the Exclusive channel keeps getting reported. The one I created about two months ago was also taken down. Losing four Exclusive channels in a year, each with thousands of members, is really discouraging.
As I always say, every type of content has its audience. If it's not for you, you're simply not the target audience.
This isn't just a Nairobi Loop problem. Even City Digest, which had over 200,000 members, and other popular channels have faced the same issue.
I can always create a new channel, but phone numbers linked to banned channels can't be used to create another.
I'm now thinking of the best way to launch a new one that will hopefully survive.

Two suspects have been arrested after detectives intercepted a trailer carrying 825 kilograms of cannabis worth an estimated KSh 24.7 million in Voi.
The suspects, identified as Fredrick Otieno Ogode and Edwin Ochieng Otieno, were arrested after officers from the DCI Anti-Narcotics Unit searched the truck and recovered 11 gunny bags filled with cannabis. They remain in police custody pending arraignment.
