In App: By selecting this option you will use nagram's built-in push service, i.e. a permanent notification in the background, it's the old nogcm version we all know.

FCM: The default option if you have Google services, not much to explain.

Unified Push: The new addition, for this you need a unifiedpush notification distributor (Ntfy in F-Droid) which doesn't take much space and doesn't consume much memory when running.
