Screw loose: Man attacks teens with screwdriver in Williamsburg, cops

Police are looking for the reprobate who stabbed three teens with a screwdriver on Flushing Avenue on May 25.

The tool-wielding wacko was having an argument with two 16-year-olds — a boy and a girl — and a 17-year-old girl, near Broadway at 2 a.m., when he pulled out the screwdriver and stabbed the boy in the back of his head, before jabbing him in the torso, according to police.

The maniac then drove the tool into the younger girl’s arm, before stabbing the older teen in the chest, cops said.

Anti-Semitic message found at Jewish museum in Brooklyn

#NYC police are investigating an #AntiSemitic message found at the Jewish Children's Museum in #Brooklyn on Thursday.

"Hitler is Coming" was written on a Post-it note and placed on a billboard display in front of the museum, said #NYPD spokesperson Sophia Mason.

The message is the latest incident in #NY, which has seen a 67% increase in hate crimes from April 2018 to April 2019, according to New York City Police Department.

The NYPD is looking into whether the note constitutes a hate crime. Police said they do not have a suspect.
New York Gov. #AndrewCuomo said Thursday that he had directed the State Police Hate Crimes Task Force to assist the NYPD's investigation.

Hosang is 5 feet 10 inches, weighs 200 pounds and is bald with brown eyes. The NYPD is offering a reward of $2,500 for information that leads to his capture.

Senate Passes Verrazzano Toll Discount for Brooklynites

The #NYSenate has passed a bill to give Brooklynites a break on the steep toll for the #VerrazanoBridge.

The bill, which passed the Senate 55-3 on Thursday, gives #Brooklyn residents making at least 10 trips in a month across the Verrazzano with an E-Z Pass account the same discounted price that #StatenIsland residents currently have – $5.50 (though that discount for Staten Islanders kicks in when they make just three trips a month with E-ZPass).

The discount would only apply to non-commercial vehicles.

The current toll for non-Staten Islanders is $12.24 with E-ZPass and $19 without.
#Weather: A chance of early showers, then clouds giving way to sun. Highs in the low 80s.
Uber Copter's $200 flights launch in NYC on July 9th

#Uber's autonomous flying taxis aren't ready to take flight yet, but according to a report in the #NewYorkTimes, it will offer air transit starting July 9th. Uber Copter will be available in New York City first, to Uber Rewards members who've obtained Platinum and Diamond status. Unsurprisingly, the rides will have dynamic pricing that changes based on demand, but the average ride will cost between $200 and $225, according to Uber Elevate's Nikhil Goel.

However, unlike Uber's car service, it has a predetermined route that runs between a location near the #StatenIsland Ferry in #Manhattan and #JFK with a flight time of about eight minutes. Uber hasn't publicly announced the service itself, but according to the article, flights will have space for up to five passengers (don't expect to bring along much baggage) with two pilots, all operated by the Heliflite charter service.

A #WestPoint cadet was killed Thursday in a vehicle accident near an academy training site, and 19 other cadets and two soldiers were injured, the academy said.

Lt. Gen. Darryl A. Williams, the superintendent of the US Military Academy at West Point, said at a news conference that the injuries in the rollover accident are not considered life-threatening.

Williams said he was unable to immediately provide details about the cause of the accident, citing the ongoing investigation, and that the name of the deceased cadet would not be released until their family was notified. "Today was a tragic day for the West Point community and our United States Army," Williams said.

Pilot in fatal helicopter crash was conducting ‘executive travel’

Police have said they believe his chopper was headed back to an airport in Linden, #NJ, while conducting executive travel. The pilot contacted the West 30th Street heliport to say he was experiencing some kind of problem and needed to land there, sources said. Investigators believe he may have gotten lost on the way, possibly due to the fog, sources said.

As New York struggles to undo the lies of anti-vaxers, moms step in to help

There's no question: The ongoing measles outbreak in #NY is in a league of its own. As of the outbreak's ninth month, more than 800 people in the state have become sick, and New Yorkers have infected people in four other states.

Around the United States, there have been 1,022 cases of measles in 28 states this year as of Friday, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. To put New York's number in perspective, it's huge: The next largest measles outbreak in the United States in the past 20 years was less than half that size and lasted less than half as long.
