NYC Weather: Snow Coming Before Temps Plummet To 3 Degrees
Snow and an Arctic freeze are about to bring the winter blues back to #NYC. The white stuff is set to start falling early Wednesday, with periods of heavy precipation likely, according to the #NationalWeatherService.
And then the cold will return with a vengeance. Wednesday night will see a low of just 3 degrees, forecasters predict.
The work week starts out Monday with sunny skies and a high of 33 degrees. Tuesday is likely to see rain in the afternoon that will continue until early Wednesday when the change over to snow is expected. An inch is forecast to accumulate by the time commuters start heading to work.
Snow showers will continue until about 11 a.m. Thursday, with some heavy, the NWS said. And the cold will stretch through the week. Thursday is not likely to reach above 14 degrees.
The good news? The nights are getting noticeably lighter. Spring is nearing.
And at least we don't live in #Chicago where wind chill temperatures this week are expected to fall to an incredible 40 degrees below zero.

Elderly Man Pummeled In Brutal Bed-Stuy Attack, Cops Say
A #BedStuy man is charged with breaking an elderly man's nose in a sudden and brutal attack, police said.
Lytee Knox Hundley, 31, stands accused of pummelling a 62-year-old man in the lobby of his building on Tompkins Avenue near Martin Luther King, Jr. Place at about 6:20 p.m. Friday night, says #NYPD.
Emergency responders rushed the 62-year-old to #WoodhullHospital where he was treated for a fractured nose and orbital bone, according to police.
Hundley was arrested Sunday and is expected to be arraigned on assault charges in #Brooklyn Criminal Court on Monday, according to police and court records.

Newburgh Declares Snow Emergency
City of #Newburgh officials has declared a snow emergency effective at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29.
Interim City Manager Joseph P. Donat said snow emergency parking regulations will be in effect until the emergency is lifted.
During a snow emergency, alternate side of the street parking regulations are in effect as follows:
👉 On North-South Streets, parking is permitted on the east side of the street for 24 hours, from 6 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Parking is permitted on the west side of the street for 24 hours from 6 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
👉 On East-West Streets, parking is permitted on the North side of the street for 24 hours from 6 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Parking is permitted on the South side of the street for 24 hours from 6 p.m., Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday.
👉 On all other City streets, the Police Department will designate the side of the street on which parking is permitted, allowing parking on one side of the street on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and then on the other side, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Permitted parking on each side of the street will be from 6 p.m. at the time the Emergency is declared until 24 hours after.
