Specially curated overseas experiential learning trip for Chem students🛩🧪
Hey chemistry students!🤩🤩
Chem Dept will be organising a visit to Suzhou, Hangzhou and Shanghai, China, from 1st-10th June 2025. According to the World Bank, China has the world's second-largest economy after the United States. Through company and site visits (Roche Diagnostics, Corning, BioBAY, Hydrogine Power Technology Suzhou, etc), seminars, networking sessions and various assessments, you will get to learn more about the Chinese market economy, and foreign workplace knowledge and skills. Furthermore, you will acquire first-hand experience of learning about the unique characteristics of different types of firms, and the latest trends in the industries. You will also have the opportunity to explore culturally significant landmarks in China (The Bund, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, etc in Shanghai; Suzhou Museum, etc), which will enrich your understanding of its rich cultural heritage. As most of the companies / talks in this trip are in the field of chemistry and biology, we strongly encourage our chemistry and life sciences majors to attend. We aim to have an equal number of students from each department as participants.
Hear from a student who attended this program last year. You may also email chmwst@nus.edu.sg for more information.
Course Units: 2 Units
Assessment and Grading Basis: 100% CA, CS/CU
Pre-requisites: Undergraduate students in the Faculty of Science who have completed at least 40 Units, including CFG1002 Career Catalyst or HS1401S/A Career Compass I
Programme Fee: As this is an in-country experience, there will be a Programme Fee (which includes air ticket, accommodation, transport, and miscellaneous costs) to participate in this course. The Programme Fee is estimated to be around S$2,300. NUS will provide funding support of S$1,500 for students who have not participated in STEER programmes. In addition, students on Financial Aid may be supported by different financial schemes
Deadline has been extended to 22 March. Apply via EduRec-GE now if you are interested 🎉🎉
