๐งงGong Xi Fa Cai! -- Wrapping Up our CNY Celebration! ๐
Last Friday, we journeyed through time to ancient China, unraveling the celestial tales that adorned the skies of the past, from theories on the universe's birth to their ingenious instruments for celestial observations.โจUnder the starry sky, we embraced the joyous tradition of Lo Hei, tossing wishes for prosperity and good fortune up high. ๐ฎAs the lanterns fade and the echoes of ancient wisdom linger, we wish you a holiday filled with happiness, and may the Year of the Dragon bring you boundless joy! ๐ ๐งจ๐ (photos cr.mirabelle)

๐Between the 10th and 14th of January, 37 members from the NUS Astronomical Society travelled to Langkawi, Malaysia for a stargazing expedition, AstroBash 49. During the trip, our members experienced parts of the night sky that are inaccessible from Singapore. This is the first time some of them have traveled overseas for stargazing. Throughout the four nights, we managed to see various astronomical objects such as M104 Sombrero Galaxy, M51 Whirlpool Galaxy, C77 Centaurus A, and more. Some of us even managed to see the International Space Station and many other satellites moving across the night sky. Outside of experiencing the stars, we also took the opportunity to travel across the island freely and easily. From the night market to the cable car, the trip brought our members together to forge new and stronger friendships. While AB49 has ended, we look forward to seeing you at AB50.๐
Hello Astronomers! In light of CNY eve we will not be holding any talks tmr. However, we will still have a chill stargazing session on ERC Rooftop at around 9pm! Do join us if you are in UTown at the time.
Hello Astronomers! See you at ERC rooftop in ~20 mins! The skies are not that bad

Over 4.5 billion years ago, in a cloud of collapsing nebula, a young, scorching planet was violently born.
Welcome to Earth. Today, humans and countless other species proudly call this our home, a sparkling marble of azure blue and lush green in the vast, dark Universe.
But things weren't always like this.
Join us next Friday, 15 March, 7.30pm at the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum, National University of Singapore, for a dive into our deep history, as we trace the epic journey that took us from the beginning of the Universe to today, spanning cosmology, astronomy, geological history, paleontology and more.
This is the first time that NUSAS is collaborating with @lkc_nhm, and get ready to admire with your own eyes a specially curated collection of authentic fossils and meteorites offered by the Museum, telling the tale of our distant past. It will be an experience not to be missed! Sign up now at this link!
Due to capacity limitations, admitted attendees will receive a text message confirming their attendance within a week before the session itself. Keep a lookout!
(Please note that photos of the event may be taken by LKCNHM and NUSAS for future publicity purposes.)

Every bit of matter in each one of us was created in the Big Bang. Over the eons, we have come through from the explosive deaths of giant stars, the violent birth of our planet Earth, and taking on all shapes and sizes of different life forms before finally becoming us - humans.
This past Friday, NUSAS was proud to have successfully held a talk in collaboration with @lkc_nhm to recount this impressive journey that we've taken, with the Museum kindly providing us a variety of valuable fossil and meteorite samples, for us to experience the history of Earth and life at the tip of our fingers.
To all who attended the event, we hope you've gained a deeper understanding and different perspective of our connections with the Universe and our deep history. We look forward to seeing you back at NUSAS sessions again!
