Prior to 2024, Bitcoin typically trailed monetary easing cycles, showing a weak correlation of +0.21 with the global easing index. After the ETF rollout, that relationship flipped—and intensified—reaching a correlation of -0.778. This suggests Bitcoin now anticipates central bank moves rather than reacting to them.
The reason? A shift in market participants. Institutional investors accessing Bitcoin through ETFs are increasingly pricing in macroeconomic trends 6–12 months ahead, repositioning BTC as a leading indicator of monetary cycles.
