I got sucker punched in the face last week by one of the guests. Addiction and mental health are a huge contributor to the homeless crisis. Often times is a combination of the 2. I believe he was strung out and having a bad day. He wasnt making any sense verbally. I tried to go talk to him but he wasn't in the right state of mind. I refused to press charges. It's never personal, however it is spiritual. Unfortunately he was banned from the shelter for a year which is sad because right now our temps are in the single digits. It's a rough environment but there is not one situation I can think of that would ever make me stop going. Hopefully I will see him on the streets eventually and we can have a conversation. I know the devil is not happy with me being at the shelter. I get reminded everytime I go serve. Keep us in your prayers. 🙏💙

Thank you to everyone who continues to pray for our ministry. I have a special prayer request. When we started this a little over a year ago with just an idea, we repeatedly had doors closed on us and struggled more than most know. I truly believe once He saw how dedicated, persistent, and how much our hearts were truly in it, He began to clear a path. Not only has the Lord has been opening doors for us the last several months, through divine appointment He is also placing some amazing people around us who truly believe in our mission of serving and ministering to the homeless. After a wonderful meeting I had a couple weeks ago with the CEO of the non profit overseeing the Emergency Winter Shelter and a phone call I had earlier today with an amazing man I've been meeting with from our church, this building below could potentially be a home for our ministry. It's an office building that just went up for sale. I spoke with the owner last week. Maybe it is God's Will for us to turn this building into a small church for the homeless guests at the shelter with a nice kitchen to prepare the meals to serve them. It is basically in the same parking lot as the shelter that will soon be converted into the new Multi Agency Resource Center for the homeless here in Wichita. What are the odds? We serve a mighty God. If this is in His Will, it would be a dream come true, if not, I know He has something greater planned for us. Please add this to your prayer list.

Below is one of the guests at the shelter. His name is Michael. I've known him for several months. He approached me the other morning while we were carrying in breakfast behind the shelter. He was telling me how he had been up all night doing crystal meth and how high he was (it was obvious). If was a beautiful and profound moment of between the Lord and I. Overwhelming gratitude. Several years ago it would have been very dangerous for me to be in this environment due to my previous uncontrollable crystal meth addiction. All I did was ask Christ into my heart and for forgiveness while believing and trusting Him with all my heart. Being Born Again is the ONLY way. Next month with be 10 years clean from m*th. Now I can confidently be amongst other users daily without fear of relapse and have the opportunity to tell them and show them the love of Christ. This is possible for anyone no matter what your circumstances are or what you are struggling with. I am a living testament to His saving grace.
