DAVID RUTHERFORD, 60, AND HEATHER RUTHERFORD, 43, WERE ARRESTED IN RHEA COUNTY ON WARRANTS FOR SERIOUS CRIMES.

The charges include child trafficking, rape, and aggravated sodomy, following an investigation launched in mid-May into the ongoing abuse of a minor.

The search conducted at the couple's property in Flintstone involved local and federal law enforcement agencies, including the FBI.

The investigation remains open to determine further facts.
