⚡FORMER MAYOR OF, ARRESTED ON CHARGES OF SEXUAL OFFENSES AGAINST A MINOR

Chad-Alan Carr, 48, the former mayor of Gettysburg, has been arrested on charges of child sexual abuse.

He faces two counts of a serious offense for possession of images depicting sexual acts involving minors and one count of a lesser offense for corruption of a minor.

The allegations involve inappropriate contact with a teenager (aged 16–17 at the time) between 2011 and 2013, while he was volunteering in the high school theater program: sexual messages, the exchange of explicit photos, and acts via video call.

A report to ChildLine on February 24 triggered the investigation. He resigned in early March for “personal legal reasons.”

He is being held on $100,000 bail.

The preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 20.
