In Tufino, near Naples, a 4-year-old girl died after months of abuse and severe malnutrition.

The little girl had been temporarily placed with her aunt and uncle by social services after her natural parents had their parental rights suspended.

Initially, it was thought to be a fall, but investigations revealed abuse, burns, and severe physical deterioration.

According to investigators , the child lived in conditions of extreme neglect, to the point of developing severe malnutrition, which contributed to her death.

The foster parents were arrested on charges of aggravated murder.


When a child dies after months of neglect and abuse, the question is not only about those directly responsible: it also concerns the ability of institutions to protect minors.
