Enoch Burke (39, Irish teacher) was released on January 14, 2026, after more than 560 days (in different periods over the last three years) in prison for disobeying a court order: he refused to use the pronouns "they/them" for a trans student and to call them by their new name, on grounds of Christian conscience.
(In December, his immediate release had been ordered.)

The school suspended him, then fired him.

On January 15, he returned to school, but was immediately suspended again—he did not teach any classes.

The case shows the extent to which gender ideology can lead to extreme punishment for those who do not conform. Burke: "I will not give up my beliefs."

The FBI and Prince William County police raided a Red carpet Inn hotel in Dumfries,VA early Thursday morning.
