According to a report by the Mission interministérielle pour la protection des femmes, based on data from the Ministry of Health, in 2024 there were 614 children aged 0-2 years who were victims of #sexual_violence, including rape and sexual assault, received in medical-judicial units.

These 614 victims represent about 2 percent of the total number of people received for sexual and gender-based violence, which amounts to 73,992 cases, up about 9,000 from 2023.

The Commission indépendante sur l'inceste et les violences sexuelles notes that, for 22 percent of overall victims of sexual violence, the first acts occurred between birth and age 5.

In France, about 160,000 minors experience sexual violence every year.
