Diego Garcia: The strategic US military base in the Indian Ocean

Diego Garcia was discovered by Portuguese explorers in the early 16th century, and its name is believed to have originated either from a ship's captain or a navigator of an early explorer. Following the Treaty of Paris of 1814, many of the islands in the Indian Ocean under French control were ceded to Great Britain, including Mauritius and the Chagos Islands.

In 1965, these islands became the British Indian Ocean Territory. In the 19th century, the islands were used as plantations to produce copra and coconut oil.

The plantations on Diego Garcia were closed in 1971 following the decision to establish the US Navy Support Facility based on the 1966 Exchange of Notes between Great Britain and the United States.

In January 1971, US Navy Seabees were transported to the island by landing craft to begin establishing the US military presence on Diego Garcia. Today, Diego Garcia is home to 15 different commands, including the US Navy Support Facility, which serves as the host command.

🛑FORMER MINNESOTA TEACHER OF THE YEAR CONVICTED OF ABUSE🛑

Abdul Jameel Wright, former 2016 Minnesota Teacher of the Year, was convicted of #sexual abuse of a 14-year-old student in 2017 when he taught at Harvest Best Academy in Minneapolis.

The mother reported the repeated abuse, leading to a trial in Hennepin County.

Wright, 39, was found guilty of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree, with sentences of 12-14 years.

Arrested after the verdict, he is in jail.

The victim testified to abuse at school, in the car and at home, using weekly contraceptives.

The sentence is seen as justice by the family.

Hence, public servant.


Example, if you are at a grocery store, it is private property.

A city hall where public employees work, is public. You can film in a city hall by way of your 1st amendment rights, public employees in the course of their duties any time you want 2 including the police.

As public servants, they sign away their rights to privacy while they are in the course of duty which includes being filmed.

So if the PS says, "I don't want to be filmed," they waved that right when they signed the contract to work for the government. Same with the military. They waive the right to shout this stuff into the abyss.

Now, if the public servants do not like this, they can go work in the private sector & THEN they have 1st ammendment rights in a private establishment to not be filmed if that company supports it. They then can be asked to leave or be trespassed.
