⚡️🇲🇦 The death toll from the earthquake doubled to 632, with another 329 people injured.
What do we know about the earthquake in Morocco:
What happened
⭕️ The Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported an earthquake in Morocco.
⭕️ The epidemic is located at a depth of 10 km.
⭕️ Tremors were recorded from Rabat in the north of the country to the town of Sidi Ifni in the south. Experts report that they were felt within a radius of 400 km from the epicenter.
⭕️ The National Institute of Geophysics of Morocco indicated that the earthquake had a magnitude of 7 and that its epicenter was 80 km from Marrakech.
⭕️ In areas affected by the earthquake there are problems with mobile communications and electricity.
Casualties and destruction
⭕️ Five people were initially reported to have been killed due to the earthquake.
⭕️ The death toll later rose to 632, Reuters reported.
⭕️ Several apartment buildings and various structures collapsed in Marrakech.
Actions by authorities
⭕️ Emergency services continue to clear the rubble.
⭕️ The authorities are assessing the material damage caused by the earthquake.
⭕️ In Marrakech, a street hospital was created to provide assistance to victims.
