🏛️IN NEWS:-Recently, the Union Education Minister Announced the release of the report of All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) 2019-20.
🏛️The Report provides key performance indicators on the current status of Higher education in India.
🏛️It is Released Annually by the Department of Higher Education.
🏛️GER in Higher education is 27.1% in 2019/20
🏛️In the last five years from 2015-16 to 2019-20, there has been a growth of 11.4% in student enrolment.
🏛️GER is the number of students enrolled in a given level of education, regardless of age,
There has been overall increase of over 18% in female enrolment.
🏛️However, share of girl students is lowest in institutes of national importance while female participation in professional courses is lower as compared to to academic courses.
🏛️Humanities, Science, Commerce, Engineering & Technology, Medical Science and IT & Computer were six major fields chosen by students.
🎯🎯 *Recent Initiatives* 🎯🎯
1.National Education Policy (NEP), 2020: It aims at increasing the GER in higher education to 50% by 2035.
2.Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC): It aims at improving the research ecosystem by research collaborations between Indian institutions and the best institutions in the world.
3.Rashtriya Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA): It aims at providing strategic funding to higher educational institutions
🏛️ALL INDIA SURVEY ON HIGHER EDUCATION (AISHE) 2019-20
Survey covers all institutions of Higher Education in the country, registered with AISHE code This Institutions are categorized in 3 broad Categories;
1. University,
2.College
3. Stand-Alone Institutions.
There are 1043 Universities, 42343 Colleges and 11779 Stand Alone Institutions listed on AISHE web portal and out of them 1019 Universities, 39955 Colleges and 9599 Stand-alone Institutions have responded during the survey.307 Universities are affiliating i.e. having Colleges.
KEY POINTS
📚Student enrolment grows by 11.4% from 2015-16 to 2019-20 ..18.2% increase in female enrolment in Higher Education from 2015-16 to 2019-20
📚GER in Higher Education is 27.1% in 2019-20.
60.56% Colleges are located in Rural Area.
10.75% Colleges are exclusively for Girls.
There are 32.6% Colleges, which run only single programme, out of which 84.1% are privately managed. Among these, 37.4% colleges run B.Ed. Courses only.
KEY FEATURES ⬇️⬇️
1. Total Enrolment in Higher Education stands at 3.85 crore in 2019-20 as compared to 3.74 crore in 2018-19, registering a growth of 11.36 lakh (3.04 %). Total enrolment was 3.42 crore in 2014-15.
2. Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER), the percentage of students belonging to the eligible age group enrolled in Higher Education, in 2019-20 is 27.1% against 26.3% in 2018-19 and 24.3% in 2014-2015.
3. Gender Parity Index (GPI) in Higher Education in 2019-20 is 1.01 against 1.00 in 2018-19 indicating an improvement in the relative access to higher education for females of eligible age group compared to males.
4. Pupil Teacher Ratio in Higher Education in 2019-20 is 26.In 2019-20: Universities: 1,043(2%); Colleges: 42,343(77%) and stand-alone institutions: 11,779(21%).
5.8 crore Students enrolled in programmes at under-graduate and post-graduate level. Out of these, nearly 85% of the students (2.85 crore) were enrolled in the six major disciplines such as Humanities, Science, Commerce, Engineering & Technology, Medical Science and IT & Computer.
6. The number of students pursuing PhD in 2019-20 is 2.03 lakh against 1.17 lakh in 2014-15.
7. The Total Number of Teachers stands at 15,03,156 comprising of 57.5% male and 42.5% female.

Teaching is such activity which is helpful both teacher and their students. Both get benefit from this. Through teaching, student's knowledge increases. His behavior will also become good. On the other side, teacher's knowledge also increases because it is that wealth, more we sacrifice, more it will increase in our brain.

Factors Affecting Good Teaching
a) First factor of good teaching is the planning. We see whether teacher has made planning or not. Before teaching, we have to study, More we study, better we can teach.
b) Second factor is involvement of students. If students participate in learning effectively, teaching mission will be fulfilled.
c) Environment of classroom is big consideration for better teaching. If environment of classroom is peaceful, then teaching can be successful.
d) Fourth important factor of good teaching is the qualification, skill and experience of a teacher. If teacher do not know what to teach, he can not teach better.
In last, I want to say, if you are interested to teach from your deep heart, you will be successful as teacher.
