Italy has launched its first ever mega food park project in India, comprising of food processing facilities, in a bid to further strengthen ties between the two nations. The pilot project named βThe Mega Food Parkβ was virtually launched at Fanidhar Mega Food Park, in Gujarat.
β¨ Priyanka Mohite Becomes First Indian Woman To Scale Mt Annapurna
Priyanka Mohite has became the first Indian woman to scale Mt Annapurna, the tenth highest mountain in the world. Mt Annapurna is a massif in the Himalayas in north-central Nepal situated 8,091 metres (26,545 ft) above sea level. Apart from this Priyanka has previously climbed Mt Everest in 2013 and Mt Lhotse in 2018.
β¨ Cabinet approves MoU between CCI and CADE
Cabinet approved the MoU between Competition Commission of India (CCI) and Administrative Council for Economic Defense of Brazil, (CADE). Section 18 of the Competition Act, 2002 permits CCI to enter into any Memorandum or arrangement with any agency of any foreign country for the purpose of discharging its duties or performing its functions under the Act. CCI has entered into the MoUs with the Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice of USA, Director General Competition of European Union, Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia, Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, Competition Bureau of Canada and BRICS Competition Authorities.
β¨ Cabinet approves fresh MoU between ICAI and CA ANZ
The Cabinet approved a fresh Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, (CA ANZ). The engagement between the two Institutes is expected to result in greater employment opportunities for Indian Chartered Accountants and also greater remittances back to India. The MoU provides for mutual recognition of qualification of members of other bodies, who have achieved membership by completing the Examination, professional program and practical experience membership requirements of the two parties.
β¨ Myanmar Army Chief to attend ASEAN meeting in Jakarta
The Head of the Military government of Myanmar Senior General Min Aung Hlaing will embark on his first foreign visit after the coup to Indonesia to participate in the ASEAN leaders meeting.
β¨ India Ranks 142 in World Press Freedom Index 2021
India has been placed at 142nd position among 180 countries in the latest World Press Freedom Index 2021. The index is published every year by the international journalism not-for profit body, βReporters Without Borders (RSF)β, to evaluate the press freedom situation in 180 countries and territories. Norway has retained its top spot for the fifth year running, followed by Finland and Denmark at second and third place respectively. Eritrea is at the bottom of the index at 180th place.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has constituted a six-member panel to carry out comprehensive review of the working of Asset Reconstruction Companies (ARCs) in the financial sector ecosystem. The panel will be headed by former Executive Director of RBI, Sudarshan Sen.

India's Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) GC Murmu has been chosen as the external auditor by a prestigious intergovernmental organisation working for the elimination of chemical weapons. The Hague-based Conference of State Parties of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) selected the CAG as its external auditor for a three-year term starting 2021. India was also selected as a member of the Executive Council of the OPCW representing Asia Group for another two-year term during the OPCW Conference of State Parties.
β¨ RBI approves re-appointment of Murali Natrajan as MD and CEO of DCB Bank
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the re-appointment of Murali M. Natrajan as the Managing Director & CEO of private sector lender, DCB Bank, for further period of one year. The re-appointment of Mr. Natrajan is subject to the approval of shareholders, and will begin from April 29, 2021. Natrajan was first appointed as MD and CEO of DCB Bank in May, 2009.

Noted Bengali poet Shankha Ghosh has passed away following COVID-19 complications. He was 89. Ghosh was known by his pen name Kuntak. He was awarded with Padma Bhushan in 2011, the Jnanpith Award in 2016, and the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1977 for his book βBabarer Prarthanaβ, as well as Saraswati Samman and Rabindra Puraskar among other awards.

The former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Maidavolu Narasimham, has passed away. He was 94. He was famously known as the βFather of Indian Banking Reformsβ. Narasimham was the 13th Governor of RBI and served from May 2, 1977 to November 30, 1977.

American computer scientist Charles Geschke, best known as the co-founder of graphics and publishing software company Adobe Inc, has passed away. He was 81.
