🔻As per the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, 50% of Super Speciality seats
in Government Medical Colleges in Tamil Nadu are reserved for in-service candidates.

🔻24 in-service seats remain vacant.

🔻Due to changes in counselling guidelines, including a DGHS notification dated 21.06.2025 permitting upgradation in the stray round, the Selection Committee has received representations seeking an additional round of counselling to fill these vacancies.

🔷 If anyone got allotted a seat In Stray Round and didnot report then your security deposit will get forfeited and no debarrment for next NEET SS sessions.

🔷If joined a seat (DNB) and resign then debarred from DNB seat for 2 years ( 2024-26 batch).

🔷If resign a seat (DM/MCH) after joining- can participate in Next NEET SS Exam ( but need to pay seat leaving Penalty to that particular institution or college).

In all case candidate will not be eligible for Stray Round 2.

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to thethird and fourth respondents to conduct an additional mop- up counselling for NEET-SS 2024-2025, after including the unfilled Super Specialty seats in Tamil Nadu NEET-SS 2024-2025, which are availablewith the fifth and sixth respondents.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side andperused the materials available on record.

3. Out of the 5000 super specialty seats available inmedical colleges across the country, about 600 seats were left vacanteven after completion of two rounds of counselling under the National Eligibility -cum- Entrance Test-Super Specialty (hereinafter referred to “NEET-SS”).
