Took a quick trip yesterday from @NASA_Johnson to visit with Senator @JerryMoran.

For those who have never been to the Cosmosphere in Kansas, this museum and education center is exceptional. To look at the Apollo 13 command module and Jim Lovellโ€™s suit as the Artemis II crew surpassed the distance record was very impactful. I was standing next to Apollo Flight Director Gerry Griffin, and had it not been for his decision-making, and that of his NASA Mission Control team, the Odyssey command module and Jim Lovellโ€™s suit might not have been in the museum to display.

The Cosmosphere has an incredible collection of space hardware, including the Liberty Bell 7 capsule, a full Apollo-Soyuz Test Project mockup, and a Voskhod 2 with the Volga inflatable airlock used by Alexei Leonov during the first spacewalk. You can see how challenging it was, which is one reason he had to partially deflate his suit to get back inside.

We also visited the manufacturers contributing to Americaโ€™s space program and met the students--the future pilots, astronauts, and engineers who will continue American leadership in space.

Thanks again for the wonderful visit, Senator.

My favorite image so far. Orion, built by human hands in just a few years, set against a moment billions of years in the making.

Very grateful to the local law enforcement and the Secret Service for keeping everyone safe at the event.

Happy Motherโ€™s Day to my mother, who showed endless patience with me as a child, to my incredible wife Monica, and to all the amazing mothers across the NASA family.

The President of the United States called into the NASA press conference after the historic Roman Telescope launch.

There is a reason nearly 70% of Americans support NASA's return to the Moon, compared with just 35% during the Kennedy era. The worldโ€™s most accomplished space agency, backed by @POTUS, bipartisan support in Congress, and an extraordinary workforce, can absolutely achieve the near impossible.

We are returning astronauts to the Moon, building the base, getting underway on nuclear power in space, with many more exciting missions like Roman to follow!
