Normally, we open a browser, ask GPT or Claude a question, get the response, and then bring the code back into our project. Instead, if you already have your GPT or Anthropic API key, you can bring AI directly into your workflow using tools like Aider.

Aider is an open-source tool that helps developers work with AI models right alongside their projects. It supports multiple models, including Claude, GPT-4, and Gemini, giving you flexibility depending on the task.

Think of it as having a teammate who can:

Assist with writing and editing code more efficiently

Help reason about solutions when you’re unsure

Provide guidance or suggestions that keep you moving forward

The value comes from using AI as a supporting teammate, not as a replacement. It’s there to complement your work, reduce friction, and make your workflow smoother, all while keeping you in control.
