Adroa is the supreme god or spirit of the Lugbara people of central Africa.
Adroa is a god they worship, and this aspect of the god was known as Adroa 'ba o'bapiri ('God the creator of men').[2] Adroa was said to have created the first man, Gborogboro, and the first woman, Meme. Gborogboro and Meme were also twins, and they were considered the ancestors of the Lugbara. Adria is also credited with the establishment of social order, by communicating his laws to the tribal ancestors of the Lugbara.

Literally, the "mother of locality" or "place-mother" — is a deity in the pre-Christian Georgian pantheon, especially revered by the mountaineers of northeast Georgia, such as the Khevsurs, as a protective spirit of a place (genius loci) and also as a deity of fertility of humans and livestock alike.
The ancient Georgians believed that each place — mountain, hill, ravine — had a "mother" which they called the "place-mother". She was portrayed as a beautiful lady with silver jewelry who patronized not only the location but also the foreigners who travelled in this area. With the advent of Christianity, this cult became closely associated with that of the Virgin Mary (Mother of God). They share some common features of rituals and Adgilis Ghvtismshobeli ("Mother of God of the Place") is still worshipped as a patroness of the community among the Georgian highlanders.

She came down to Earth in the guise of a grey rat, but had the ability to change into a beautiful woman or a hag with a tongue a yard long. If she visited a man at night in her beauty mode he would be sure to die. What a tease.
She also ran an oracle service for priests, offering hot tips for future success in exchange for a little sacrifice. But word got out that she spent most of her time in a tree as a grey rodent. Someone must have ratted on her.
One night, a person or persons unknown cut down the tree. She must have realized she had outstayed her welcome, as she was never seen again.
