The Three Pure Ones (δΈζΈ , SΔnqΔ«ng) are the highest deities in Taoism, representing pure manifestations of the Tao at different levels of existence. Yuanshi Tianzun, the Jade Pure One, embodies the Taoβs formless origin and the source of creation; Lingbao Tianzun, the Supreme Pure One, represents cosmic order, law, and the transmission of Taoist teachings; and Daode Tianzun, the Grand Pure One (identified with a deified Laozi), manifests the Tao in the human world through wisdom and virtue. Together, they symbolize the Taoβs progression from primordial essence, to universal principle, to active guidance in human life.
