The Kaaba β€’ πŸ•‹

The Kaaba, located in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, is Islam's holiest site and the center of Islamic worship. This cube-shaped building, approximately 39 feet per side, is believed to have been originally built by Abraham and his son Ishmael. The Kaaba houses the sacred Black Stone, which Muslims kiss or touch during pilgrimage. Considered the direction of prayer (Qibla) for Muslims worldwide, the Kaaba is surrounded by the Grand Mosque and is the focal point of the Hajj pilgrimage, one of Islam's Five Pillars. Every year, millions of Muslims circumambulate the Kaaba seven times, symbolizing unity, spiritual purification, and rejection of polytheism, reaffirming the Kaaba's significance as a sacred connection to Islamic heritage and tradition.

Sami Drum β€’

In SΓ‘mi shamanism, the noaidi (Sami Shaman) used the drum to get into a trance, or to obtain information from the future, or other realms. The drum was held in one hand, and beaten with the other. While the noaidi was in trance, his "free spirit" was said to leave his body to visit the spirit-world.
The patterns on the drum membrane reflect the worldview of the owner and his family.
