🇫🇷 French Expression of the Day: "Au fait"
One of the most useful everyday expressions in French is "Au fait".
✨ Meaning: "Au fait" = "By the way"
It's commonly used to introduce a new topic, add an important detail, or mention something you just remembered during a conversation.
📌 Examples:
➡️ Au fait, tu viens demain ?
By the way, are you coming tomorrow?
➡️ Au fait, j'ai parlé avec Marie hier.
By the way, I spoke with Marie yesterday.
➡️ Au fait, j'ai oublié de te dire que le train est en retard.
By the way, I forgot to tell you that the train is delayed.
💡 Don't confuse "Au fait" with "En fait"!
✅ Au fait = By the way
✅ En fait = Actually / In fact
Another useful expression: Être au fait de = To be well informed about / To be familiar with something.

Today, let's learn the difference between le côté and la côte.
🔹 Le côté (masculine) means: ✔️ Side ✔️ Aspect ✔️ Used in expressions like: • à côté de – next to • de mon côté – on my side / as for me • mettre de côté – to set aside or save • passer à côté de – to miss or overlook
🔸 La côte (feminine) can mean: ✔️ Coast ✔️ Hill / Slope ✔️ Rib (or rib steak)
Examples: 📍 Nous passons une semaine sur la Côte d'Azur.
➡️ We're spending a week on the French Riviera.
🥩 Je voudrais commander une côte de bœuf.
➡️ I'd like to order a rib steak.
🥾 Le randonneur monte la côte.
