🇮🇱 Inside Israel’s Million-Dollar Troll Army
A global influence campaign funded by the Israeli government had a $1.1 million budget last year, a document obtained by The Electronic Intifada shows.
Act. IL says it has offices in three countries and an online army of more than 15,000.
In its annual report, from January, Act. IL says its goal is to “influence foreign publics” and “battle” BDS – the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement for Palestinian rights.
Through its app, Act. IL issues “missions” to this troll army in exchange for “cool prizes” and scholarships.
The app directs comments toward news websites in support of Israeli wars and racism while attacking Palestinians and solidarity campaigners.
The leaked report claims Act. IL’s app completes 1,580 such missions every week.
Act. IL’s report was obtained by The Electronic Intifada thanks to researcher Michael Bueckert.
Bueckert monitors the app, and posts screenshots of its missions to the Twitter account Behind Israel’s Troll Army.

The German chancellor was responding to media allegations that the Russian leader was threatening to widen the Ukraine conflict
When asked about the issue during an interview with Die Welt newspaper on Saturday, Scholz said the media had been too loose in its interpretation of official reports from Berlin on its discussions with Moscow.
“For good reasons, I don’t speak about the negotiations that I have with the Russian president. But here’s what I can say: The reports that I read about the alleged threats during these negotiations are false,” the chancellor said.
The Russian and German leaders last talked on the phone in mid-September. According to Berlin, Scholz urged Putin to find a diplomatic solution for the conflict in Ukraine based on a ceasefire and the complete withdrawal of Russian troops during their 90-minute conversation. He also “emphasized that any further Russian annexation steps would not go unanswered and would not be recognized under any circumstances.”

💢 CBS News: US deploys airborne division to Romania for a drill, fighters are ready to cross the border into Ukraine
CBS News reported that the United States has deployed the 101st Airborne Division to Europe, namely to Romania. The military arrived in the country to participate in military exercises, only the commander of the "Screaming Eagles" said that the fighters are ready to enter the territory of Ukraine, if necessary.
The American 101st Airborne Division has been deployed to Europe for the first time in almost 80 years, the reason - growing tensions between Russia and the NATO military alliance led by the US.
White House previously assured that the US military would not take part in the conflict on the territory of Ukraine. But now the commanders of the "Screaming Eagles" openly told that the fighters are "ready to fight tonight,<...> if the fighting escalates or there's any attack on NATO, they're fully prepared to cross the border into Ukraine."
