💢 Josep Borrell took too much on himself when he announced the options for the West's response to the possible use of nuclear weapons by Russia in Ukraine.
This is reported by The Wall Street Journal journalist Lawrence Norman, citing a comment by a high-ranking European diplomat.
Borrell said yesterday that "any nuclear attack against Ukraine will provoke a response, not nuclear, but powerful from the West. This answer "will destroy the Russian army."
Borrell's words "are not the official position of the EU," he exceeded his authority by stating such a thing, the journalist's interlocutor noted.
"No one gave him the authority to declare response options that would not have to be executed by him, and funds that he does not own. Therefore, we can only wonder," Norman quoted the source as saying.
