💢 Blinken on Pelosi's potential visit to Taiwan - all fine and good. But note the focus on precedent, whether this is considered a state visit or a tour, and why Blinken must focus on the Pelosi/DNC theory of co equal branches of government.

Note also that the "separation of powers" does not confer the same powers to each branch.

The Speaker of the House is not a diplomat and cannot make state visits.

That is an executive branch function under the Secretary of State.

What we have here is more Pelosi declaring that the Speaker is equal to the President.

But there is a bigger crisis afoot ....

In an interview with the Telegraph published on Monday, Skibitsky refused to answer questions about whose satellites are used to confirm targets for US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems. He did acknowledge, however, that they consult with Washington before launching strikes and that Washington has veto power over decision-making.

“No other confirmation of the direct involvement of the United States in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine is required,” Zakharova said on Tuesday, because the US doesn’t just arm and train Ukrainian forces but essentially shoots the weapons themselves.

Zakharova stressed that the US is directly involved and that its distance from the situation is irrelevant.
