Ukrainian news:
The defenders of Mariupol, who left the territory of the Azovstal plant, did not surrender and did not lay down their arms in front of the Russian invaders, reports "Ukrainian truth".
The publication's source in Ukrainian intelligence stressed that those who left Azovstal should not be called prisoners of war. - "It is categorically impossible to call it a surrender."
The marines from the Ilyich Iron and Steel Works - they surrendered. But it's dishonest to say this about the defenders of Azov.
First, they did not lay down their arms in front of the Russians.
All the fighters from Azovstal handed over their weapons to their own officers.
Before leaving they gave their weapons to their own commander, he shook their hands and thanked them for their service.
