Europe may lose "air for industry, says head of the German Chemical Industry Association Christian Kullman.

"The industry is deprived of the air necessary for breathing, or rather, the gas necessary for its operation," he said.

Since the abandonment of nuclear and coal power, gas has been the basis of Germany's energy supply.

If Berlin abandons the "blue fuel", then German industry will be under threat.

Kullman stresses that calls for an embargo on Russian gas are unreasonable and outrageous.
