China — The current situation around the crisis in Ukraine has demonstrated the "bankruptcy of sanctions" and other restrictive measures, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin told a news briefing on Thursday.
"On the one hand, the United States is expanding sanctions against Russia. Alongside this it concludes deals with other countries on which it had imposed sanctions earlier. In fact, this indicates the bankruptcy of sanctions," he said.
"Also, the United States pompously urges Europe to introduce an embargo on Russian oil and gas, but at the same time keeps purchasing Russian energy resources without any restrictions. US financial institutions take advantage of an opportunity to grab the devalued bonds of Russian companies, while Europe has to pay the price for instability in the region and more costly energy resources," Wang said.

Hamas has published a footage of firing Soviet Strela-2’s at IDF aircraft as it was attacking Gaza tonight. Hamas missed the shot, but IDF aircraft withdrew immediately after the use of Strela-2.
It is unclear how Hamas got their hands on the Strela’s. The strela 2 is a very old piece of equipment which is easily countered these days, but it will sure complicate things for the IDF if Hamas has a considerable number of them. Up until now, Israeli aircraft faced no threat over Gaza and could fly around as they pleased. Hamas has no experience with these so they are learning as they go, once they master them, they will become more and more dangerous, especially for IDF helicopters. Jets are unlikely to get hit, although it’s possible.

Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev has said foreign mercenaries that take part in hostilities on the side of Ukraine and don’t surrender to Russian forces will be called to account along with their Banderite instructors.
He said in a Telegram post that mercenaries are "in no way volunteers" and aren’t legitimate combatants in that they aren’t covered by Geneva conventions.
"Therefore, foreign mercenaries in Ukraine who will not surrender to our troops are subject to denazification as a matter of priority along with their Banderite mentors," Medvedev said. "They will be held fully responsible for their actions. Of course, if they survive.".

💢European companies will be able to pay for Russian gas in rubles without violating EU sanctions, Reuters reports. To do this, they will need to pay in dollars or euros, which will then be converted into rubles.
A letter of clarification to the EU countries was sent by the European Commission. The agency clarifies that according to the new requirements of Russia, it is still possible to make payments in dollars or euros under existing contracts.
The EC added that buyers of a Russian company from among European companies will be able to open accounts in a Russian bank, deposit foreign currency into them, convert it into rubles and make payments. This scheme eliminates the possibility of Western countries blocking gas payments.

A few days before the presidential and legislative elections in France, a service ironically called "Uber Elect" has emerged on social networks.
The site, which claims to have almost 3000 users already, is simple:
- it offers French citizens to sell their vote for 75 €
- it offers candidates to buy votes
The whole thing is apparently done with a proof of vote and a Monero transfer. A sort of Craigslist or democracy marketplace where people can monetize their citizenship. The uberization of democracy to it's end.
💥 This video has been circulating social media recently. it's unclear if this is just an ironic trolling operation to mock what Western democracies have become, or if this is a real business to sell votes. Whatever the case it exemplifies the perception of westerners (and especially the French) have on democracy.
