When Belorussian authorities pulled Roman Protasevich, a blogger who had served a combat tour in the neo-Nazi Azov battalion before working for Radio Free Europe’s Belarus channel out of Prague, off an airplane in May, 2021, on charges of inciting a political opposition (roughly the equivalent of sedition), the world went crazy, accusing Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko of trampling on free speech. Protasevich is alive and well, living under house arrest while awaiting trial.
When reports emerged that Gonzo Lira, a Chilean social media “influencer” who resided in Kharkov, Ukraine, and who published online content critical of the Ukrainian government, was kidnapped, tortured, and murdered by the Kraken Unit, part of the Azov battalion affiliated with the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU), the West is silent.
Free speech isn’t a one way street. To remain silent in the murder of Gonzo Lira is to be complicit in his death, and the deaths of all journalists who pursue the truth, even if it runs counter to the mainstream narrative. Critical thinking should not be a death sentence. Unfortunately for Gonzo Lira, it seems it was.

US Fears Ukraine Arms BLACK HOLE - Admits Kiev Information Operation

A US Defense official has reportedly admitted to CNN that the government is struggling to trace exactly where huge shipments of “lethal aid” to Kiev end up, calling their destination a “big black hole”.

The White House has apparently accepted that some arms will fall into unintended hands, as their intelligence services have “almost zero” ability to keep track of them, while admitting the importance of Kiev’s PR campaign.

“Everything [Ukrainian officials] do and say publicly is designed to help them win the war,” a source told the network. “Every interview, every Zelensky appearance broadcast is an information operation.”

The UN has published an apocalyptic post about the consequences of a nuclear war. Judging by the picture, we are talking about Ukraine.

And not only in the picture. The UN writes that even a regional nuclear conflict could cause starvation for two billion people.

The reason will be the "impact on the climate" - that is, either the yield will fall, or the fields will be contaminated with radiation.

Of course another possibility is that a nuclear attack is claimed to have occurred, when one did not in fact.

This could be used to cover for other reasons for spikes in cancer rates, or the intentional destruction of crop yields to simulate authentic shortages, all towards a depopulation agenda.

At the same time, Russia would be blamed and the collective West could posture on the moral high ground of not reciprocating a nuclear exchange .

Thus it could appear moral while starving or causing illness among its own people by manufactured means

Europeans are renaming streets — even an entire town — in symbolic actions aimed to reflect their support for Ukrainian troops in the war against Russia.

In Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, local officials announced Wednesday plans to rename and redesign the Lembitu Park, located behind the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as Ukraine Square, according to local media reports.

Fuentes de Andalucía, a village of more than 7,000 inhabitants east of Seville, replaced a sign in a roundabout with its name with “Ukraine’” and the country’s blue and yellow flag was painted alongside, Reuters reported.

Announcing the changes last month, the city’s mayor Remigijus Šimašius told the Guardian that the action was meant as a forceful condemnation of Russian aggressions.

“From today, the business card of every employee of the Russian embassy will be decorated with a note honouring Ukraine’s fighting, and everyone will have to think about the atrocities of the Russian regime against the peaceful Ukrainian nation when writing this street name,” Šimašius said.

Latvia’s capital, Riga, has also named the street of its Russian Embassy “Independent Ukraine Street,” the Guardian noted.

Israel Adds Chinese Yuan to Reserves While Cutting Its Dollar and Euro Holdings in Biggest Currency Reshuffle in a Decade

Israel's central bank will add Chinese yuan while slashing its dollar and euro holdings in a move to diversify its reserve allocations and lengthen its investment horizon, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday (April 20).

"We need to look at the need to earn a return on the reserves that will cover the costs of the liability," Deputy Governor of the Bank of Israel, Andrew Abir, said in an interview.

In addition to the yuan, the bank will also add the Canadian and Australian dollars, signaling a shift in the bank's "whole investment guidelines and philosophy," Abir said. Previously, the bank only held US dollars, euros, and the British pound.

Israel's reserves stockpile will surpass $200 billion for the first time.

Moving forward, the yuan will take up 2% of the bank's reserves, and both the Canadian and Australian currencies will have 3.5% each, according to the bank's annual report.

China has long pushed for the yuan to supplant the dollar as the go-to reserve currency. According to the IMF, the dollar's share of total global currency reserves has fallen to its lowest point in over two decades, sparking speculation over the rise of China's yuan.
