💢 People have wondered how many 'high value persons" are trapped along with the (Nazi) Azov Battalion at the Azovstal plant in Mariupol.
(1) Azovstal is one of the largest steelworks on the planet, where coal is coked and iron ore becomes steel. It's a huge facility.
(2) Azovstal was transformed into a massive base for Azov, and designed to transform Mariupol into a medieval-style fortress. The French were over-confident that Mariupol would not fall.
All this may explain why the head of French military intelligence was sacked.
We receive information from Paris that allows us to complete the Mariupol "puzzle" and understand many of the still unclear issues surrounding the situation in the city.
As you know, the territory of Ukraine was divided into specific areas of responsibility of NATO countries. And in Mariupol there was a large intelligence center of the French Armed Forces, acting in the interests of the alliance and the Kiev regime.
At some points, its personnel reached hundreds of specialists, but by the time the battle for the city began, there were 53 officers of the French military intelligence DGSE.
Why they didn't leave earlier is unknown. It is possible that they have decided to continue collecting information until the last moment. However, when the last opportunity for evacuation came, they could not leave, because evacuation attempts have failed, but also perhaps because the Azov militants with whom the French interacted simply did not let them out.
Seeing what was going on, the Nazis decided to use them as a guarantee that they themselves would be pulled out of the cauldron.
In addition to the French, in Mariupol there is a group of mercenaries - former and current officers from Canada, Sweden and Great Britain, as well as a detachment of Syrian Turkomans (takfiris) with extensive experience in urban combat in Syria. The total number of these volunteers is not exactly established. Among them may be career intelligence officers from the Canadian CSIS, Swedish MUST and British MI-6, who like to use the status of a mercenary as a cover.
So they were trapped, too. I'll add it on my own: Judging by the way Greek diplomats were active in this area, it can be assumed that the military from this country was also involved. Moreover, Zelensky even showed two Greek mercenaries to the Greek parliament.
The eternal actor Tsipras feigned disgust, only to conceal the real role of the very same Greek intelligence services which he himself is compromised by.
To get out his hapless scouts, Macron began calling the Kremlin, to which he received assurances that Russian troops, if Paris met a number of conditions (the content of which was not disclosed by the French), were ready to give a corridor, but to resolve the issue with Azov, which does not let foreigners out, you need to talk to Zelensky.
But Zelensky also an actor, has no control over the Azov Nazis nor perhaps is even interested in getting out the French "trapped" in Mariupol (which would deprive Paris of room for maneuver and possibly contribute to an increased EU-Russia confrontation). In any case, he was unable or unwilling to help his French counterpart.
Chancellor Scholz came to Macron's aid on March 18, and on March 20, with Moscow's consent, a rescue team of German military intelligence officers from the BND was sent to Mariupol. But the "Azovites", believing that this is the only hope for them to escape from the encircled city, having prompted Kiev to un-block it, turned the Germans into hostages, despite guarantees from the AFU command and the command (or rather, representative office) of the Azov regiment located in Kiev.

💢As a result, Vladimir Putin began to call not only Macron, but also Scholz. The Russian side (in exchange for a number of certain concessions from Berlin and Paris) agreed to release everyone – both intelligence officers, Azov fighters and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but after disarmament and certain verification measures against everyone leaving the city. And this proposal was rejected by the Ukrainian side.
After that, an enraged Macron on March 30 dismissed the head of French military intelligence Eric Vido.
This was followed by attempts to evacuate the French and Germans with the help of AFU helicopters, which were unsuccessful. As we know, helicopters were shot down by anti-aircraft crews of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the DPR.
It is likely that the evacuation arrangements with the Kremlin included mandatory, albeit tacit, contact between evacuees and their Russian counterparts, and the attempt to circumvent this condition caused Russian discontent, which was expressed in the five downed helicopters.
It is unfortunately a practice in some cultures to use the 'force of the situation' to change the terms on a whim. To smuggle in some ulterior last minute plan, contrary to the agreement.
Incidentally, it is not a fact that these downings took out foreigners. There were no French or Germans in the helicopter that was shot down over land. There were two Frenchmen in one of the ones that fell into the sea.
It is obvious that Azov continued to hold them, and two were 'released' to persuade whoever is making any decisions at this point, to release their comrades. A common terrorist practice. According to radio intercept data, 21 Frenchmen were "killed".
The last attempt to get the foreigners out was made by the Turks. Erdogan requested a sea evacuation from Mariupol. Russians agreed, but with a reservation - from Berdyansk, just west of Mariupol. That is, the meeting of Western intelligence officers with their Russian counterparts was still a prerequisite. But this attempt also failed.

💢Now everyone who is still alive (if there are any left) of the Foreign intelligence officers and military specialists held in Mariupol are concentrated at Azovstal to serve as human shields for the Nazis.
The cabal in control of Zelensky throws out the entire command of Azov in Mariupol out of the proverbial helicopter. The European intelligence officers meet their end. It is a high risk job, as they say.
Since the intelligence officers of NATO and Sweden are of great operational interest to the Russian special services, and the very fact of their capture can produce a huge propaganda effect, as well as become a serious trump card for putting pressure on Western countries, efforts were made to take them alive.
This circumstance greatly hindered the assault on Azovstal and made it impossible to launch powerful bomb and artillery strikes on the militant fortifications on the Azovstal compound.
But judging by the fact that now the intensity of the artillery and aviation has seriously increased, either there was information that the foreigners were "executed" by the "Azovites" in order to avoid their detention by the Russian special services, or in order not to put the lives of our soldiers at unnecessary risk, Russian generals simply gave up on them.
Paris urges the Russian leadership not to make public the fact that French intelligence officers are in Mariupol. Macron is in an election, and the scandal that has broken out may negatively affect his rating and the possibility of re-election.
It should be noted that the French president himself not only "leaked" confidential information from the Russian-French negotiations on several occasions, but also deliberately distorted it. So in this sense, the Kremlin should not have any restrictions. And, most likely, information about the French in Mariupol is just waiting for the right moment to "bury" Macron, who has established himself as an independent, dishonest and unscrupulous partner.
In the final analysis, this does not mean that Russia intends to use this to foist Le Pen into the presidency.
It is a fact that the Russian media campaign was the driving force behind the Yellow Vests. It is also a fact that Russian interests are very much involved with Le Pen and types of Euroscepticism of that variety.
I myself had the pleasure to meet her father, perhaps better known to the world a generation ago, who was present to give awards at an event organized by an association I presided over. So I understand the Russian involvement in this arena.
But the forces behind Macron have also shown signs of 'life', that is to say, of a sovereign French position. We can look at Russo-French collaboration against Turkey on the terrain of Libya, who together backed Haftar.
Now perhaps we will only come to know what became of the foreign officers at Mariupol through leaks, information requests, parliamentary inquiries, and more of the same, in the coming years.
For now, it is quite likely most these men are dead and gone.
Still, I am looking intently and closely at what is uncovered in the catacombs spanning many square kilometers, under Azovstal.

💢 The statements from Josep Borrell, head of the EU foreign service, that the only solution is a military one, was the final declaration required to prove for the historical record, for time immemorial, that Europe broke the faith in a political and diplomatic solution to the conflict in Ukraine.
In hindsight, this may prove to be a game changer. One which will ring through all future events.
Putin's response, naturally, is understandable and probably realistic.

According to Russian state run media, RT, these captured Ukrainian fighters confess to their crimes against civilians, shooting women for refusing 'to go to another room' and killing random people for not being able to pronounce 'palianytsia' correctly.
Russians can't pronounce palianytsia correctly.
We are always suspicious of any confession claims by POWs, and even tend to disbelieve them.
This one is interesting because they go to the crime scene and he walks through the entire process.
