NYT reports:

• The United States created the Tiger Group, which is developing a plan for Washington's response in case Moscow uses nuclear, biological or chemical weapons.

• At the same time, the US authorities believe that the likelihood of using nuclear weapons is low.

• The group is also developing a response scenario in case Russian troops cross NATO borders. Both scenarios for attacking convoys with military aid to Ukraine and the expansion of hostilities to neighboring countries, including Georgia or Moldova, are considered.

• The Tiger discusses what could prompt NATO to use military force against Russia. Earlier, US President Joe Biden has repeatedly stated that NATO will avoid confrontation with Russia so as not to provoke a third world war. 😱

Germany reforms its main intelligence service - October 2016

I'm pulling this out of my archives to help connect to what I had explained some days ago about Germany's growing sovereignty.

In 2016, massive reforms happened in the BND, its main intel org.
Reading this, you'll have to be extra good to pick out the facts. Elsewhere, this had been covered in better detail.

That detail being, that the BND was rooting out the CIA from the BND. And allowing the BND to counter-espionage the CIA infiltration and monitoring of Brussels and other EU member states.

The structure of the EU is hard for many to understand. It's an easy default position to say that behind it all is Germany. That's only sort of true. A lot of this is flattering the Germans.

Germany has the potential, but there are reasons why German sovereigntists also oppose the structure of the EU at Brussels.

And this tension between Germany and Brussels makes no sense at face value, until you see that Germany does not control Brussels as much as many believe.

The Atlanticist vector in European affairs is economic, yes. But also military (NATO), and political (Brussels).

Summarizing further would be a disservice. This is not to say that Germany is powerless.

Rather, its growing power reaches a point where it has sovereign control of its intelligence service.

These big moves culminated in 2016, to remove the CIA from the BND.
