💢Japan truly baffled by demand to pay for Russian gas in rubles

👉Japan, an importer of Russian gas, expressed confusion this week regarding Moscow’s requirement to pay for deliveries in its own currency, rubles. The new requirement concerns countries that have imposed sanctions against Russia over its military operation in Ukraine.

💢The land of of the rising sun was flummoxed that a seller could in any way have a say in the terms of a sale.

💢Japan expressed sincerity in their disbelief and failure to understand why Moscow would unilaterally require payment in a currency intended to work against the very sanctions that Japan has unilaterally levied onto the gas exporting country of Russia.

👉Japan, after all, has every right to sanction a country but then buy things from that country along terms that best suit themselves.

💢After Joe Biden called for regime change in Russia, the press asked for clarification on what the Biden administration planned to do to remove the 'dictator' and 'war criminal.

A White House official was compelled to clarify that Biden was not calling for regime change in Russia per se when he literally made the bold and highly emphasized statement that “For God’s sake, this man cannot remain in power,”

"The President's point was that Putin cannot be allowed to exercise power over his neighbours or the region. He was not discussing Putin's power in Russia, or regime change," they said.

EU ran a trade deficit with Russia and now that will only get worse. EU needs 20 trillion per year to survive but only exports 2 trillion. Printing Euro digits inside computers isn’t going to cut it. It will prove difficult for the EU to buy Rubles, even if first buying yuan, rupees. The EU will have to sell all of its Russian stocks, bonds and then its own shares of factories, real estate, gold, etc. The EU doesn’t have enough gold to pay for even one year of gas. It won’t be long and the EU will be in receivership to Russia which will likely cause a collapse of the union.

💢Putin's move to require gas payments in rubles would undermine the point of EU sanctions, admits leading German economists.

👉The switch to rubles for gas payments, announced earlier this week by Russian President Vladimir Putin, would force the European Union to circumvent its own anti-Russia sanctions if it wants to keep the gas flowing in, Germany’s Der Spiegel reported, citing economy experts.

👉According to Düsseldorf economist Jens Südekum, in order to pay for gas deliveries, Europe would have to buy rubles from the Russian Central Bank which is itself on European sanctions.

👉It is unclear what exactly EU leaders were planning to do, or thought would happen.

👉Critics suspect that transatlantic banks are intentiomally attempting to degrade the European economy, for reasons still unclear.

👉Russia is energy and food self sufficient, and continues to enjoy trade with dynamic growing economies representing over two-thirds of the world's population.
