💢 German Defense Minister Pistorius urged China to stop recruiting retired German combat aircraft pilots.

Pistorius said that at a meeting with Lee at the Shangri-La Dialogue security conference in Singapore, he "made it clear that he expected an immediate end to the policy" of recruiting Luftwaffe airmen.

On the eve of the German portal Spiegel published an investigation according to which former Luftwaffe fighter pilots have been training Chinese military pilots for years.

German intelligence agencies consider it very likely that the pilots were passing on expert military knowledge as secret operational tactics for the German military and NATO - and may even have practiced attack scenarios that China might consider useful for an offensive against Taiwan.
