50% EBC for boys & 100% tuition fee reimbursement for Girls GR
*GR Highlights*

1-Tuition fee and examination fee for eligible students from Economically Backward (EBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Socially and Educationally Backward Class (SEBC) and Other Backward Class (OBC) categories admitted to vocational and non-vocational courses through centralized admission process/prescribed method. The amount is reimbursed. Till now, eligible students (Boys and Girls) of the above category taking admission in professional courses were reimbursed 50% of the education fee and examination fee. But, read the above no. 03, the government has decided to reimburse 100 percent of education fees and examination fees to girls in the above category admitted to professional courses instead of 50 percent from the academic year 2024-25. 100% tuition fee reimbursement is admissible to students belonging to economically weaker sections

2.Eligible students should not be required to pay tuition fees at the time of admission. Also, for students to whom 50 percent tuition fee reimbursement is admissible, eligible students are eligible to be admitted if they pay 50 percent fee at the time of admission. In this manner, if educational institutions insist or demand that eligible students from economically weaker sections pay the full amount of tuition fees at the time of admission, action will be taken against such institutions, such instructions have been given earlier vide Circular No.02. Despite this, complaints are being received from students, parents, various organizations and public representatives that some educational institutions in the state are insisting on payment of tuition fees at the time of admission while admitting students, in fact they are not admitting students without paying the fee.

3. In view of the above, regarding non-charge of tuition fees to students belonging to Economically Backward (EBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories while admitting them to vocational and non-vocational courses under the Higher and Technical Education Department. Educational Institutions are advised as follows:-
Government Circular No: Shishyavru-2024/P.No.207/Tanshi-4

4-100% reimbursement of tuition fee for girls is permissible to the above categories of students taking admission in professional courses through centralized admission process conducted by the competent authority as well as taking admission in non-professional courses through the prescribed route, should be admitted without charging any tuition fee at the time of admission. Students for whom 50% tuition fee reimbursement is admissible, should be admitted with only 50% tuition fee.

5-Educational institutions should provide information about the scheme to all students, eligible under the respective scheme

6-Students should inform about submission of application form as per schedule of MahaDBT portal. 4. Eligible students belonging to Economically Backward (EBC), Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories will pay the examination fee amount.
