I hold XRP. I have approximately $10,000 worth of XRP.

Why? Because why not?

Do I think it’s going to the moon (“high 4 digits”)? Absolutely not.

Why do I think it won’t?

Very simple. I can sum it up in 5 main reasons:

1.) XRP is a CENTRALIZED token. Other tokens like Bitcoin are DECENTRALIZED. A vast majority of the 100 Billion XRP tokens in supply are held by Ripple. That means that a single entity (Ripple) can very easily manipulate the market for XRP to their OWN advantage, not to yours. Does that sound family to anyone? Yep. COMEX silver.

2.) the Ripple technology (for cross-border payments) can be used WITHOUT utilizing the XRP token as a currency. This takes away a major aspect of potential growth for the XRP token. Many pro-XRP folks point to the Ripple technology as a key factor as to why the token will explode. This is simply false, plain and simple.

3.) Stablecoins like USDT (Tether) and USDC are a major risk to the improvement of XRP’s price (certainly when people are saying “high 4-digit value increase”). In order for XRP to improve THAT much in value, stablecoins such as USDT/USDC would essentially have to stop being used all together — when in reality, they are growing in popularity every single day.

4.) dependency — XRP’s value proposition is heavily reliant on adoption by large, traditional financial institutions, which may be slow to integrate or prefer their own private solutions. Many currently have their own version of Ripples technology already in place, and they prefer using their own instead of someone else’s.

5.) technical issues — The XRP Ledger uses a permissioned node system, which has experienced issues requiring node synchronization multiple times in the past, indicating potential reliability concerns (hence why financial institutions are using their own tech instead of Ripple)

I’m sorry, but I’m a no-go on XRP.

If your goal is to make money on tokenization, you have much better opportunities with far less risk/questions with JGGL, ATLA, or many many many others.
