This world and its glitters will fade one day.

Right now in this dunya, even if we manage to get everything we want — a beautiful home, an amazing car, a lush garden, etc — they will eventually make us sad. Things begin to rot, to decay, to not work properly. Even our moments of happiness can be tainted with sadness.

But in Jannah, *we* increase in khayr and beauty. Our life experiences in the mind-bogglingly beautiful Jannah will only continue to get better.

There is love without separation.
Friendships without betrayal.
Blessings without limit.

There is finally a happy ever after.

🌺 ❛…and for this, let [all] those strive who want to strive.❜ 【Surah al-Mutaffifin 83:26】

The Marriage with the Greatest Blessing is that with Lesser Financial Burden.
Question:

What is your opinion of the large dowers and expensive parties and honeymoons that cost a great deal of money? Does the Shariah approve of such things?
Answer:

Having very expensive dowers and extravagant wedding parties is something that goes against the Shariah . The marriage which has the greatest blessing is the one with lesser financial burden. Any time the burdens are lessened, the blessings are increased.
This is a matter that is many times caused by women. Women are the ones that often insist upon their husbands to set very high dower [for their daughter]. If a lesser dower is offered, they will say their daughter is deserving of such and such. Furthermore, expensive and luxurious wedding parties are prohibited by the Shariah . they fall under the command of the verse.

''But be not extravagant. Verily, He loves not those who are extravagant ” (Surah Al- Anam 7:141)

Again, many times it is the women who force their husbands to do such things. They say that so and so’s party they had this and that. However, such gatherings must be according to the Shariah .The person should not spend what is beyond his means. He must also never be extravagant for Allah has prohibited extravagance.

'' Verily, He loves not those who are extravagant .” (Surah Al- Anam 7:141)

Honeymoons are worse and even more evil. This is because they are an imitation of the non-Muslims. They are a waste of lots of wealth. It also leads to people being lax with respect to their religious duties when such honeymoons take place in non- Muslim areas. The people come back with customs and behaviour that are harmful for them and for the Muslim community . This is something that is to be feared for the Ummah . However there is no harm, Allah Willing, if a man travels with his wife to make Umrah or to visit Madinah.

OLD AGE is a real struggle. If you have elderly people around you, especially your parents, show them some love and empathy. Most of them are battling with one medical problem or the other. From weak eyesight to fragile bones, to mental difficulties and susceptibility to infections... Many of them are taking a variety of medications and tonics to keep body and mind in order...

Some are widows and widowers who are struggling with loneliness. Some are still grieving for the loss of their spouses and peers, while others are dying slowly and painfully from the diagnosis of a terminal illness...

No wonder the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) advised us to take advantage of our youthful years before senility sets in! If you are close to old people, you'd have noticed how much they complain about inability to do things that they would have loved to do... all the beautiful and athletic body is now replaced by wrinkled skin and grey hair...

Old age can be a blessing for those who attain it with sound health, but it can also be a trial for the frail, and a challenge for those who have to take care of them...

"Allaah has created you and then He will cause you to die, and of you there are some who are sent back to senility, so that they know nothing after having known (much). Truly! Allah is All-Knowing, All-Powerful".
-Qur'an chapter 16 verse 70.

THE MAN WHO WAS ABDUCTED BY JINN

AND AR-RAḤMĀN b. Abī Laylā reports:

A man from his people, from the ANSĀR, went out one night to pray ʿIshāʾ with his people (during the Caliphate of ‘UMAR), but some JINN ABDUCTED him, and he went missing.

His WIFE went to Umar and told him (of her missing husband). ʿUmar asked his people about him, and they confirmed that he had gone out to prayʿIshāʾ but had gone missing. (ʿUmar) told the woman to WAIT for four years.

When four years had passed, the woman went back to ʿUmar and informed him (of her case). He asked her people and they confirmed the case. He told her she could NOW MARRY, and she did.

But her (FIRST) HUSBAND RETURNED and raised a dispute (over the marriage) to ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb. ʿ

Umar said, “One of you disappears for ages, his family does not know whether he is ALIVE or not (and then he turns up, making claims)!” The man replied, “O Leader of the Believers, I have an EXCUSE.” He asked, “And what is your excuse?” The man replied, “I went out to pray ʿIshāʾ one night, but some Jinn captured me, and I (was held captive) by them for a long time.

Then, some Muʾmin – or Muslim (one of the reporters, Saʿīd, was not sure of the exact word used) Jinn waged an ATTACK on them, fought them and beat them, and took captives. They took me amongst the CAPTIVES, but said, ‘We see that you are a MUSLIM man, and it is not allowed for us to keep you captive.’ So they gave me the choice of staying with them or returning to my family. I chose to return to my family. They set off with me. By night, no one would say anything to me; but by day there would be a STICK I would follow.”

‘ UMAR asked the man, “What was your FOOD when you were amongst them?” He replied, “Difficult (STOLEN?) FOOD, and what had not had the name of Allāh mentioned over it.” ʿUmar asked, “And what did you DRINK when you were amongst them?” He replied, “AL-JADAF (a type of drink that does not ferment).”

‘ UMAR ruled that the man had a choice to either get back the Ṣadaq (DOWRY) he had given (and have his marriage stay nullified), or take back his wife.

Parents, your fights affect children mentally and it creates bad image which makes them fall into illegal relationships ,affairs in a very lesser age! They are forced to look for sympathy and affection outside. Set a good example for them.

TEN MISTAKES PEOPLE MAKE IN CHOOSING A SPOUSE AND WHAT TO DO INSTEAD 📌

1. INFATUATION that mostly comes with "love at first sight". Love at first sight may be true or not. In most cases, FALSE!. Either way however, seek Allaah's guidance with the Sunnah prayer of Istikhārah. Allaah will give yours.

2. DATING for years with the claim "we want to know each other better". Dear Friend, you cannot know him or better outside, the real love and 'true nature of human' is displayed in marriage.

3. IF YOU DON'T DATE, then you don't just JUMP IN, look before you leap is highly encouraged in ISLĀM. Make thorough findings of his or her FAMILY BACKGROUND, characters, behaviors and others. Allaah will choose you the best after your TRYINGS, God-willing!

4. "I WANT AN HĀFIDH with a touch of P-SQUARE and JACKIE CHAN, oh no, you don't really know what you want. Get your priorities right and also NOT TOO HIGH, find it, pray it and you would have him or her.

5. MR RIGHT and MISS PERFECT is what you are looking for. DON'T DO THAT!, it's costly, your time is gone already. You can't find anyone without FLAWS. However, you can get the BEST out of any person you want. Marriage is a union between two imperfect individuals pretending FOOLISHLY to be LIVING PERFECT. At the same time, don't be or go for 'You have to accept me for who I am' when 'who I am' is not at all MANAGEABLE!

6. I WANT TO BE OKAY is why you are delaying marriage and you would miss out on that your 'Halāl Crush"? Oops, it's very risky ooo. You can never be okay. However, with sincerity and prayers, Allaah will make it easy for you to marry rightly and enrich you in return!

7. SHE IS BEAUTIFUL and STUNNING, HE IS HANDSOME and RICH is not everything. Prioritise RELIGION.

I'm wondering if men would be open to marrying Muslim girls they encounter on social media. These girls have a diverse online presence, alternating between posting pictures in niqab attire and more revealing images of their hands, feet, mehndi designs, gajra, and accessories. They also share romantic quotes in their posts. When other men leave flattering comments on their pictures and quotes, these girls respond with heart reactions. I'm curious about the kind of men who might consider marrying such girls.

“If there comes to you a man whose character and religious commitment you are pleased with, then marry your ward (daughter) to him, for if you do not, there will be fitnah in the land and widespread corruption.” (Ibn Mājah, 1967)

And the Messenger (ﷺ) also stated:

تُنْكَحُ الْمَرْأَةُ لأَرْبَعٍ لِمَالِهَا وَلِحَسَبِهَا وَلِجَمَالِهَا وَلِدِينِهَا فَاظْفَرْ بِذَاتِ الدِّينِ تَرِبَتْ يَدَاكَ

“A woman is married for four reasons: for her wealth, her status (lineage), her beauty and her religion, so marry the one who is religious, and you will be successful, may your hand be covered with dust.” (Muslim, 1466)

So a Muslim should look at many reasons for marrying a particular person, but the most precious reason is the religious adherence of a potential spouse. And what has been stated as proofs and examples is sufficient for any sincere Muslim.

Ibrahim al-Harbi رحمه الله said,

"| never complained to my ummi (mother), Or my ukhti (sister), Or my amra'ati (wife), Or my banati (daughters), even of a hammã (fever).

The real man is the one who swallows his suffering, without making his family suffer.

And I have suffered from migraines for forty-five years and I have not informed anyone about it.

I also become blind in one eye twenty years ago and I had not informed anyone about it.”

One of the sweetest part of marriage is for there to be beautiful understanding between husband and wife. Once you understand each other, all these talk about working templates and standards would be irrelevant to your union. You both call the shots in what obtains in your home irrespective of what others may think. What others consider a taboo could be a thing for joke in your house. Social media topics that others go at each other's throats for will be read together in bed and laughed over!

Good understanding takes away the need to check who is doing more in the union and who is lagging behind. You simply just put in your effort to make the marriage grow without minding who takes the credit. I have seen women who will want to make you know that so and so was purchased or done by them in the house as they don't want their husband to take credit for it. What does that tell you? There is a crack somewhere. Have you seen a family that seem to be defying people's expectation and progressing leaving people wondering how they do it? It is a combination of Allāh's favor and a synergistic understanding between the couples. Where the marital bond is beautiful, no sensible woman will want her husband's inadequacies exposed to the public. She will shield it and cover you, and many men underestimate how important this shield is.

A wife can make or mar a man, the same way the husband's shame is also the wife's burden to bear. If a man has marital challenges, it will tell on his productivity one way or the other, just as it tells on the wife too. The glow of a woman in a happy marriage is always different, you could almost tell it from her face.

This understanding between couples isn't built overnight. It comes easy to some, while others need a lot of effort. Yet, for some it is the test Allāh places in their life as it keeps eluding them as much as they long for it. If you have a spouse with whom you share a very beautiful understanding, do not take it for granted like many do. Do not let complacency set in, that feeling that whatever you do your spouse will 'understand' and forgive. You may lose it someday and bite your finger. The pain of losing what you once enjoyed is worse than that of those who never tasted it.

May Allāh place understanding between us and our spouses.

A woman's relationship with her father fundamentally influences the kind of men she chooses in her life.

Fathers play a huge role in teaching their sons how to treat a woman and teaching their daughters how a woman should be treated by a man. If the father isn't present, then it can start a vicious cycle of desperate women.

Real talk!

SEEK TO PLEASE YOUR HUSBAND

O Muslim woman, if you know and are certain of the rights your husband has over you, then seek to please him with various means. If you have exhausted one way, employ another creative way to make him happy. This will reflect back to you if he feels ease in his home after the weariness he experiences outside the home. Be a righteous woman who pampers her husband and brings ease to the difficulties he finds in life, a woman who looks at what makes him happy and implements it while easing the hardships according to her ability.
