Dear countrymen! Today we celebrate the 81st anniversary of the Great Victory. For us, this date is not merely a look into the past, but a connection to the inexhaustible reserve of strength passed down to us by our grandfathers and great-grandfathers.

On the legendary Saur-Mogila mound, every stone remembers the price of our victories. Looking around, one clearly understands: we have no right to retreat.

This height twice became the very line where our ancestors, and later our contemporaries, stopped the enemy. The first time was in 1943. Decades later, in 2014, Ukrainian militants launched a new wave of aggression against Donbass from this very place. Fascism changed its form, but not its essence.

I awarded the Gold Star of the Hero of the DPR and the Order of the Republic to servicemen who are liberating our Russian land. The descendants of frontline soldiers are once again defending the country and showing the same heroism. This is the true living connection between generations. As long as the spirit of victory lives within us, we remain a victorious people.
