Maiar Exchange: MEX Snapshots & Claim mechanics
The MEX token is coming. This will be the native fuel and governance token of the Maiar exchange. Every EGLD holder will be able to claim this new token, and be part of the Maiar exchange ecosystem.
The distribution of MEX is a complex process, and we will detail all aspects below.
The short version is this:
• The best action to get more MEX is to have EGLD staked
• Weekly average EGLD staked & holdings considered based on daily snapshots
• Daily snapshots at random times begin April 19

The Maiar Exchange is coming. The MEX token will be 100% community owned and governed. It is essential that its distribution is therefore as fair and broad as possible. Important distribution & claim mechanics explained.
Mainnet Upgrade: Tokens have been deployed, Activation April 28.
The Elrond Standard Digital Token model embeds token functionality into the Elrond protocol. Tokens on Elrond will have all the properties of existing token standards and several new ones.
Minting tokens on Elrond will be done at negligible costs. Transferring them will be as inexpensive and fast as with native EGLD. This opens a new era for tokens.
Validators are deploying v1.1.50.0 of elrond-go as we speak. The new features will activate in Epoch 272, on April 28, ~14:30 UTC.

The Maiar exchange will be the most important ecosystem component which will bring swaps between assets, globally, inexpensively, automatically.
There are 5 threads which we've been pushing on to make this a reality:
(a) The mainnet launch w/ ESDT tokens
(b) the conceptual design w/ MEX incentives
(c) SCs & backend required for the Maiar Exchange
(d) the Maiar frontend
(e) Maiar Connect element
The Maiar Exchange snapshot interface will display the eligible EGLD amounts for each cycle. Soon after the MEX tokenomics are finalized, the claimable MEX amounts will be displayed as well.
