In some countries, many children are becoming victims of obesity, and most of them are not fit. According to some, it is governments’ duty to address this issue. Not only are governments responsible for this increasing trend, but parents are also to blame for these troubles.
On the one hand, in some ways, governments are accused of children’s obesity and unhealthy lifestyle. There are an inadequate number of playgrounds in particular places. That is, playgrounds may prevent children from engaging online games or leading a sedentary lifestyle. For instance, in Columbia, the number of overweight children in has dramatically diminished by 25% after the introduction of playgrounds in towns, allowing more and more children to spend their precious time playing with friends. Provided that there are no any playgrounds, most children would be addicted to playing games and being couch potato. Thereby, setting up new playground areas would likely aid to decrease the number of overweight children.
On the opposite side, most parents can also be a cause of this phenomenon. In this developing world, the majority of parents are breadwinners who work all day long. As a result, most parents do not have time to take care of their children, so their children are likely to play online games inactively, leading to childhood obesity. Research which was conducted by Cambridge University experts on obese children in USA found that 70% of the parents of 30 overweight children worked in full-time employment, which is considered a main reason of their children’s overweightness. Therefore, parents play a pivotal role in children’s development.
To conclude, governments are not the only cause of children’s obesity, if they introduce more playgrounds, it is likely not to happen, also parents are to blame for this statement, where they cannot allocate their time for their children’s development. (Exactly 300 words 😁)
