Whether history should remain an important subject in today’s digital world is often debated. From my perspective, even in the age of advanced technology, history continues to play an essential role in education.

The first reason history matters is that it helps people understand how the world has developed over time. By learning about past events, wars, and discoveries, students can see how societies have evolved. This knowledge provides context for today’s world and helps humanity avoid repeating the same mistakes.

Furthermore, history connects us to our culture and identity. Knowing the stories o our ancestors and traditions allows us to feel proud of who we are. For example, national holidays or monuments carry deeper meaning when people understand the history behind them. As a result, history strengthens respect and unity within society.

Of course, some argue that digital skills and science are more practical for modern jobs. However, technology alone cannot teach values or lessons from the past. History develops critical thinking and shows how human choices shape the future.

For these reasons, I believe history should remain a key subject in schools, even in the today’s digital age, alongside new technologies.
